The one problem with these types of shows is that they over dramatize the dangers of certain situations and it just pulls the entire show down.

I agree. I'm not a bush pilot but it seemed like the owner was a bit over dramatic and slightly weak and wimpy.

@ imagine being 2-5 thousand feet in the air, the plane is a light aircraft weighing around 2600 pounds, the winds are blowing 20 to 30 knots (23-34 MPH) and you have to control the plane to keep it on course and in the air. Is this pilot really being over cautious? He has been flying for 40 years which says a lot. There was another pilot named Jamie that worked for Island air many years ago that was a great pilot but didn’t get the opportunity to be as cautious as this man. His body has never been recovered. I also knew another pilot from Kodiak Air who was an exceptional pilot and even a spotter pilot. He hit a downdraft while taking off and that was it. Just saying don’t be so quick to judge if you’ve never walked in their boots.

32:00 - No, no, no! You do NOT catch and release! You catch what you need to eat, you give Thanks to the Fish and the LORD for sustaining you, and you leave the rest alone. Subjecting animals to hunting stress just for "fun" is unacceptable. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thanks FD Real for a great 'reunion' with one of my favorite old shows! I love that De Havilland DHC-2 Beaver and the Master Pilots that still fly them! Imagine: The first Beaver rolled off the Production Line 76 years and 7 months ago in Downsview, Ontario, in April 1948…! From 1947 to 1967, De Havilland Canada built 1,692 DHC-2 Beavers. This number includes all variants, including the turbine-powered models introduced later in its production run. And some 900-1,000 Beavers are still registered, and many are airworthy and in active duty! WHAT A MACHINE! De Havilland made them good! I've only flown Otters, but no matter how turbulent and crazy it gets up here in Arctic Norway, those machines are just "glued" to the sky! 😂👍

Montana Wardens are now called Yellowstone Wardens and they're on a different night now, not gone. You may have to look around but they're still there. Thanks for this though--we never get this in our area, and it's interesting to watch. We love AK, but have never been to Kodiak--maybe someday. This is stoking the fire, though!

I had no idea how dramatic and heroic all my years of bush flying really were. Oh my gosh. And I still don't. We, as a society, are really in need of meaning it looks like.

Safe below my duvet I know I was warm and secure. The realisation that I needed to get up dawned upon me like the rising Alaskan sun. If the temperature outside my duvet during the night has dropped to absolute zero I knew because of my Alaskan life experience I would die. No alternative I extended my foot below the level of the duvet. I survived. Humans can survive up to three weeks without food. Toast for breakfast would ensure that I would not endure the fate of starvation. My dilemma was that I knew the butter and marmalade was stored inside the fridge. Was it possible that a 450 pound brown bear had crept into the fridge during the night. Occasionally avoidance is the right survival choice. Dry toast is less tasty but Alaska give no quarter. Time to leave for work - as a narrator on Alaska Air.

You do not need this overdramatic nonsense. Follow these pilots for a month and film them, this is a frontier form of flying, doesn’t need this overly dramatic planning.
