Fun Fact: While Fire Emblem 12 wasn't released internationally and kept only in Japan, the reverse also happend in Advance Wars Days of Ruin/Dark Conflict where it was released internationally except from Japan and could only be downloaded via Nintendo Membership.

I like to think of Advance Wars' future as a franchise as a "what if" scenario if Awakening had failed/never started development, and it's really weird. It's a miracle we are getting a "New" AW game though, and I'm glad we are getting one.

With time, the series lowered on sales a lot (Like Fire Emblem did), which is why after a last game they just pulled the plug, it's surprising that they gave Fire Emblem another chance before leaving it to rot, as it had already done not so well with Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn and Shadow Dragon.

Fire Emblem has this habit of creating villains that you can heavily sympathize with. Arvis, Hardin, Zephiel, hell, even Nergal is SOMEWHAT sympathetic when you find out his backstory, and the reasons he originally wanted the Dragon's Gate open before he lost himself. And then you have Gharnef, Travant and Loptyr-Julius . Fuck those guys

Iago was more evil than Ashnard, at least Ashnard acted like a fucking human, rather than a comic book villain. Julius was pretty sympathetic when you learn his backstory. I mean, having to fight a dead boy who had his soul corrupted and is now a puppet is pretty sad.
@pavetheshave7 жыл бұрын
That's why I said Loptyr-Julius, and not Julius himself. From what we know from Julia, he was a sweet boy before Manfroy gave him the Loptyr tome. As for Iago, he and Hans are some of those characters that you just can't fucking wait to kill. Especially after what Hans did to Scarlet

@@StealthRed55 but still just like Anakin he ended up losing a lot more than he won in his fated Showdown. Didn't effective immediately but it did affect them overtime similar to Anakin when he became Darth Vader completely. He got to enjoy being emperor and boinking his Rivals wife AKA his sister and getting incest twins out of it. But in the end he only had the short golden age has everything started to fall apart in the backgrounds courtesy of many of his new allies including losing his closest aide who he had an affair child with which is just another Mark against him not wanting to become his dad in the cheating on your lover part! And in the end he lost big! He ended up being made useless as he got to watch his Empire pretty much fall into a Dark Age and you couldn't do a thing about it. And as I got with somebody in a different comment and if you take Awakening into fact he pretty much died being remembered as a usurper if the fact chrom stated confusion on how he was completely remembered as an irredeemable villain by history despite the fact he did have his good side but as was pointed out in that comment. His golden age was short and good enough that eventually when his allies started to weld become a lot more open aka the child hunts any Goodwill over all those years were essentially destroyed and in the end he kind of lost big in the department of his wife/sister seeing that she eventually got her memories back right after she was killed by their son meaning in that sense even if she's forgiven him along with the hero her actual husband. In the end he pretty much lost the two women he cared for to death by those on his own side lol. No surprise he decided to let the son of said hero the actual emperor cut him down

@@paulman34340 Yeah, I totally agreed with you the first time. I was pointing out that he killed his opponent. And he didn't do himself any favors by playing the role well honestly I doubt he cared! By the end he realize what he did and new history will not remember the good he did but the evil As Leafs game game showed what the Cult was doing in the underbelly of the Peace. Especially taking into mine Nobles like Hilda. And well you know how some leaders have usually been considered evil because of the people around their Administration more than them themselves! The graphical style was indeed horrid, but seeing as it changed on FE:A, that's a moot point. My Unit was the SAVING GRACE. You see, it supports EVERYONE, so all those characters you barely knew something about now have their own little backstories. You didn't have that in Mystery. They were mostly blank slates. And you do realize that those exact mechanics now represent all of the series' manaketes outside Mystery and Shadow, right? Weapon Weight was... cumbersome. You probably are.
@Gogito411 жыл бұрын
It was a remake. Not an port. New features were added because of it. Let's face it the "graphical uplifting" the DS had was just not enough. And now you are forgetting your own words "It's a remake". They can't go around and change THE ENTIRE SCRIPT to have everyone suddenly spew their backstory. MU was a loophole they found to be able to do it. What tactical level is there to "This unit that looks really good sucks due to some numerical value?" maybe the RD/PoR was better, the rest was bad.

If you played FF11, you feel like an idiot for leaving Hardin alive. the same goes for FF7 and FF6 with Zephiel. why do all the Allies turn into enemies in the next games, that's what i'd like to know. it wasn't "that" different with FF9 and FF10 either because you suddenly play on Daeins side, making Ike an enemy for a long time. they like confronting us with our allies i guess
