Fear Equation is a horror, strategy roguelike, where you have to drive an armored train through sentient nightmare fog to reach a suspiciously vague promise of sanctuary. And it's absolutely fantastic.

The tubes are called Pnuematic Tubes/Pipes, they were vacuum sealed tubes that carried messages and packages purely through air pressure over some pretty decent distances, with London still having a few interchanges still around for historical reasons, and in less dense areas you can even find pipelines for them inside old houses. They were actually pretty effective means of transporting small goods, and some banks do actually use them still to physically transfer money between each other and the Federal Reserve/Treasury (Though not often). Think of them as the London Underground of parcel sorting. Also, is amusing to see what is basically Snow Piercer the Game XP With some Lovecraftian/Steven King horror thrown in

I'm so glad I've been watching you for more than a decade. I was trying to remember what this game was and I could only remember it involved a train where you never leave the room, the supply raids that you controlled, and that it involved resource management with some sort of post apocalypse setting. Thankfully I was able to just search "Many A True Nerd train" and it came up.

This mildly reminds me of the movie Snowpiercer. Different reason to be on the train, but similarish ideas with survival and factions on different cars and the seperation by car.

Noticing you're in the comments right now I thought I'd recommend you a game, it's a detective-y kinda thing called 'Her Story.' You look through tapes and use words to search for new ones. The weird thing about it is that you finish the game when you think you're done, like you can 'finish' the game without doing anything.

Question, could you load up everyone (up to the cart max) into a room to force them into a specific mindset, and then relocate them to the other room? I mean it doesnt seem to take very long to shift the viewpoints of a crewmate to the leader's way of thinking. seems like you could take everyone to carriage 1 in shifts until they're all of the right mindset, and then repopulate carriage 2, only with people of that mindset. thus forcing the new leader to be of the mindset you want.

Hey Jon, I know you probably get inundated with requests for games to be played. But I thought I would just throw my reccomendatio into the ring, and that is Mafia 2. It is a fantastic game with a great story line with fancy suits and even fancier hats, set in the late 40's to early mid 50's. If you can find it cheap (it's a few years old now) it would totally be worth a look.

+Many A True Nerd I would make a counter-argument AGAINST Mafia 2 - based on playing through the entirety once, and trying to start over. That is - the introduction is incredibly slow-paced, and the game consistently does waypoints like a tennis match, putting them back and forth across the map so you spend more time travelling between points than doing actual story progression. Also, the police get on you for minor traffic infractions, in a way that is ingratiating after having played GTAV. I enjoyed the game when it came out, it was my version of Grand Theft Auto because my parents fit the demographic which thought that it turned children into violently murderous psychopaths. I see it hypothetically going one of two ways: You leave in the travel and extended cutscenes, and it takes a VERY long time, and a large amount of exposition (which you are excellent at) You edit out a large chunk of travel or redundancy - and cut it down to cutscenes and action - and in the process remove a large amount of the time used for exposition. Saw the comment, had some thoughts, shared, would like to hear what you or TheQuayleo think.
@9thPraetorian
@9thPraetorian 9 жыл бұрын
+Dylan Pfandler I would argue the atmosphere is what makes driving across the map fun with constant news about the war etc. the city looks gorgeous too. on regards to the story it is incredibly well paced not too over the top like in gta and enough character development to make you care for the people in the world. the graphics are beautiful considering its a 5 year old game and hold up to time. in regards to the police how would you expect them to react if you crash into them or fly past them breaking the speed limit. it only adds to the realistic feel of the world. this is game can not be compared to gta. and has one of the greatest story lines in gaming. the vehicles handle like you would expect from cars back in the 40s and the handling changes depending on what you are driving on, be it snow, wet roads or dry roads. it is a great game and I know if jon ever gets round to playing it he will love it as it is totally the type of game he enjoys. with fancy hats and fancy convertible red cars included.
