I look at albums like a story of concept and feeling. Thus album starts out exciting and energetic then goes to real, deep, thoughtful and tear jerking then into happy, hopeful and grateful... This album is my favorite. First one I bought from this band. Didn't pay attention to the lyrics, grew up, lived a little and now realize this album sings about many people I'm around and myself included are dealing with today. Simply amazing.

I was one of the rare few who absolutely LOVED this album on the first playthrough. There've been hundreds of playthroughs since then, and it's still my favorite album they've ever done. It just speaks to my soul on a deeply spiritual and cosmic level, while stick kicking some major ass, lol.

I started listening to them at 11, prior to that I was rap only. I'm 32 and all I listen to is metal and I literally love 95% of FF's songs 😂 this song used to make me so happy when I was 16. I'd have it playing on my Xbox 360 in the background while playing my little games

Fear Factory fan since Demanufacture here. That's not true. Archetype and this one are the best of them all. Those are the ones where you can truly hear a new era rising. Then they got infected again.. Lots of guys I know felt the same way.

Transgression is a Good Album. I heard that it was Rushed, due to pressure from the record company.

I was not happy, maybe even disappointed with this album, but after a few years of ignoring it I refound this tune and was blown away by how sweet it is. This song kills. I don't even know what it was in or what when I found it again, but..dayam! How did I not notice the tune the first go-round?
@erra75529 жыл бұрын
+Tsujanryo It's definitely different. I think that't what really caused Transgression to take so much heat. We had just come from a come onslaught of brutality that was Archetype, with its Slave Labor, and Cyberwaste. Then we had a few aggressive tracks on Transgression... Then Supernova, and Echo of My Scream, and a U2 cover.... and New Promise... It was very different. Not everyone could recognize it, at first, as simply being different, but went ape shit and torched the album. I've been revisiting Archetype and Transgression again lately, because they are on their way to becoming "the lost FF albums." They aren't sold on the website anymore. Barely played live. And so on. They are both really good albums, that happened to get caught in the weirdness of the band re-shuffling.

Tsujanryo I felt the same way when I first heard this album. Years later I put it in rotation on my mp3 player as I drove around the country in my big rig. I gotta say this song matches the Washington landscape perfectly. And that's just one of the atmospheric applications of this album. And I'll bet you thought truck drivers only listened to country music.

most "fans" couldn't hang with the change in this song. But its still a great song. Really Transgression gets too much unnecessary hate, simply because it was different than the normal bonecrushing, brain smashing, death metal machine that was the norm for Fear Factory. Burton has always said its about a battle between good and evil. You have to portray both, not just evil and darkness and despair.

Yes I was one of those fans at the time of release who didn't really get this album XD took a couple years to grow on me but now I see it for all its heavy metallic majesty
@davethebassist1315 жыл бұрын
That's awesome that you say that, because many people look at Fear Factory for their heaviness. I've always looked at them for their atmosphere, so I like their old and new stuff and I even dig Acsension of the Watchers.

You can tell when Dino was gone they really got to explore other genres. This sounds NOTHING like FF, which is fine. I don't want to hear the Demanufacture/Genexus style over and over. I'm curious to hear Christian's new band with Tim Yeung.

Transgression gets a lot of flak. Yea, it's not their best album by far, but there's some really good tracks there. FF was never afraid to experiment. This has a very pop feel and I enjoy it. I think if Transgression was produced, edited and mastered better, it might have turned out to be one of their better albums, but that's just me.
@madgodsrageon12682 жыл бұрын
Fear Factory and Alice In Chains are both among my favorite bands, and I've always wondered if it was producer Toby Wright pulling the bone-chilling harmonies out of Layne, Jerry and Burt or if their gift FOR said bone-chilling harmonies were why he wanted to work w/ them to begin with. Fuck the haters, I love this album every bit as much as the ones before it!

Even if you can’t bring yourself to acknowledge that this isn’t a Fear Factory song, can you at least admit the production is absolutely garbage? This entire album feels like a series of demos recorded in a garage by teenagers.
