As for Gaster feeling Sans' death: Monster families are connected by their magic. Gradually passing on their magic power to their kids is also the reason they grow old. The reason Asgore and Toriel have been alive for so long for example is because their son was "dead", thus cutting off that connection and halting their aging process.

iirc, boss monsters dont age, however when they have a child, their life force basically gets slowly drawn into the child/children as they grow older, which also results in the boss monsters aging. Hence why Toriel and Asgore stopped aging. so basically what you said.

It's the case for Boss Monsters, but we don't really know for casual monsters (and Sans and Papyrus aren't boss monsters, since their soul can't struggle a bit out of their body unlike Toriel and Asgore)

For context about that promise Sans threatened to break, he promised Toriel that he would keep the human (which happened to be Frisk) safe. He even says something like (slightly paraphrasing because I don't recall it exactly) "sorry lady, this is why I never make promises" when he fights Frisk at the end of their genocide run. On a related note, WELCOME TO CAMI'S RUNWAY OF PAIN! No getting off unless the conductor says so, and trust me... _she's not saying so any time soon._ ...By the by, we all know "akuma" means "demon". Well... "akumu" (with a U at the end instead of an A) means "nightmare", so not much better.

You're absolutely right, after this is where season 2 really begins. A few explanations: A small thing, the twin siblings are actually not the only ones who created the barrier, they're just two of seven. Not that important, but the episode doesn't explain that very well. (And another small thing about them, when Determination's soul split in half, that is basically a copy and paste of the death animation from the game, so that was just showing that he died there.) The Bete Noire is essentially made entirely of magical energy. Akumu is basically just a piece of that energy that the Bete Noire separated from itself and allowed it to exist semi-autonomously. You can learn more about the Bete Noire's creation by watching Glitchtale Origins: The Black Beast, which I believe came out after episode 4 but you can watch at any point (though I will warn that it doesn't explain everything that it shows super well, but I'm sure the comments will help you with anything you don't understand). "Since you like breaking promises, you won't mind if I broke mine, right?" This is a reference to Undertale itself, where we learn that Sans made a promise to Toriel that if a human gets past the Ruins (the first area of the game) that he would watch over them for her. There's an iconic line where, right after Sans tells all this to the player, he says, "Do you understand what would have happened if I didn't make that promise? Buddy... Y o u ' d b e d e a d w h e r e y o u s t a n d."

Iirc, the promise Sans talks about is something that he did during the actual a game. It was a promise to Toriel to watch over Frisk (this is also referenced prior to his fight on the genocide run). Also, a grey soul is basically a soul who've lost their defining trait. Like what was shown from the Twin's story, the bravery lost her courage. I really like how you go with these reactions. The attention to detail is remarkable man.

No joke my friend who made a pink souled OC (BEFORE GLITCHTALE AND BETTY WAS EVEN A THING MIND YOU) got constant pointing for what Betty did. I also joined in the pointing (mostly because we were friends and it was a running joke). It's calmed down now but she still gets the pointing from time to time. Also doesn't help her OC has a lot of similarities to Betty, pink hair, generally pink clothes that have a skirt, even a hairpin (which Kumu becomes at one point) also doesn't help that the Creator's name is Bettina (which Betty is a shortened version of). I feel bad for people making OC's with pink souls and fans of Glitchtale instantly being all 'YOUR BAD!'. When like Glitchtale isn't canon, just because a soul colour was given a trait in a popular fan series doesn't make it canon. That's the joy of Undertale, you can have a soul colour mean anything (or even have mixed souls). Also props to Camila who had the balls to kill Sans Undertale because like oh boy did no one like this (by that I mean everyone suffered with tears).

25:27 This line doesn't make sense if you didn't play the game. In Sans's last hangout (excluding the Judgement Hall scene) he reveals that he was actually friends with Toriel (though he doesn't know at the time who she is) as they spoke through the door between the Ruins and Snowdin and traded puns, however shortly before Frisk arrives in Snowdin Toriel asks Sans to promise her that he would watch over any human that left the Ruins. After telling Frisk this story he then "jokingly" says that had he not made that promise he would've killed Frisk when they entered Snowdin. So basically what Sans is saying here is "if you are fine breaking your promise, should I break mine and kill you?" Just a note, Camila made a side animation called "Glitchtale Origins: The Black Beast" that animated and goes into more detail about the story Gaster read in this episode. It can technically be watched after this episode as it doesn't spoil anything in future episodes (it's just a more detailed version of Betty's creation that doesn't get covered elsewhere), though it was released before Episode 5 if you'd rather watch it then (though again, doesn't spoil anything for Episodes 3 or 4 so it's fine to watch now).

Since you're already watching one of the "titans" of undertale animations, I recommend watching Underverse as well. Even with the lack of context (what you said in the eyepatch wolf video) you can still enjoy it and learn stuff about the alternate universes along the way. Even without the knowledge of the AU's, you can still enjoy how the characters act as well as possibly learn why they act like that. Don't know how many times you may have heard this already but you should definitely watch it after Glitchtale.

I really hope that if he chooses to react to Underverse, that he actually reacts to the series how you are supposed to. Some soul explanation stuff. Every soul is usually divided into 6 traits: Patience (Cyan), Bravery (Orange), Integrity (Blue), Perseverance (Purple), Kindness (Green) and Justice (Yellow). There are exceptions such as the red determination souls which are incredibly rare as if there can be only one person to have this at the time or the artificial Pink Soul trait of a Bete Noir (what Betty is). Betty's soul trait is actually revervesed Bravery which is Fear. The magic and the soul's color depends on the trait and how much the person has of it. If a person looses their trait like a green soul stop beings kind. Their souls "grey out" which means the loss of the trait/virtue and with it the person looses their magic as well. Basically grey soul = No trait and no magic

Hey Arier, they didn’t explain this in Glitchtale because it’s expected for Undertale fans to know, but Sans’ promise wasn’t not to forget. In Undertale Sans told Frisk that Toriel made him promise to protect any humans that fell into the underground and Sans did just that, but in the game he also said that if Toriel didn’t make him promise that then Frisk would be dead where they stand. Basically he’s threatening to break his promise and unalive Frisk, causing Asriel to get stressed because he knows that Sans would be doing what the AMD wants.

So, there is a video that explains how exactly Betty and Akumu came to be, but since we don't want to get too far ahead I'm just gonna summarize the most important part. Betty and Akumu are the split halves of the Bete Noire, or Black Beast, created by Bravery.

Shortly after I got through watching this I remembered a KZbinr named Zalzar not only reacted to this but voiced over it himself ofc he did the male characters but did use a voice modulator program for both Evil Chara. So I went to see if he gave a voice to Betty and… it was the same voice modulation he gave Chara. It’s still a great watch since he uses an effect so that when the video glitches his video also looks like it glitches.

The promise sans made was to toriel at the start of the game to not kill frisk and help them on their journey in the underground, the only time he breaks that promise is when frisk (player) kills everyone and noone is left before judgement hall. (Sidenote) he also only keeps this promis to this extreme because he is the weakest monster with an ability called karmic retrubution, that depending on the lv and exp (lv-love-level of violence) (exp-exucution points) a poison damage is ammitted that shreds through hp, basically the more murdery the person is the more damage he does.

I can NOT wait for the next episode! Glitchtale is such a good series. I was really happy that they killed Sans in this one, not because I hate Sans but because Sans is like the MC of every other Undertale animation in existence. Like you said, it really felt like anyone could die in the next episode. No one was safe, except Frisk. All of that is a recollection of how I felt at the time of this episode's release, no spoilers to be gleamed from it. :D Oh btw: The promise Sans was talking about breaking was one he made to Toriel. A promise to protect the next human to come through the ruins instead of killing them. He was basically threatening to kill him right there on the spot.

Other people have mentioned the “Glitchtale Origins” video about Betty, and have clarified what Sans’ promise was, but no one has mentioned that Akumu and Betty’s names alone were a major hint that they were not to be trusted. “Akumu” translates to “Nightmare” in Japanese, and “Akuma” translates to “Devil”. Also, “Black Beast” in French is “Bête Noire”

Well, the previous holder of a FEAR soul in their final moments created Akumu to be there to make sure monsters and humans can't live in peace and so when a new holder of a FEAR soul (Betty) was born Akumu then would find her and they became friends, now they work together to turn monsters to dust, if I remember and understood correctly

{To give more information} Now all the episodes from now will have fight scenes, but Betty is actually not a human / monster hybrid. There is an animated episode for Betty's backstory called "Glitchtale Origins" I think, if I remember correctly the thumbnail on the video is a whitish pink soul. Maybe you'd like to watch that to understand the enemy more. Also as a side note Camila Cuevas likes people that react to her series to add her transparent logo onto the screen. You can find it in her descriptions hopefully in the next episode. Episodes animation quality and art style will be noticeably better every time you watch.

For the confusion you had toward the end, I wanted to clarify some more complicated bits of the lore. Bete Noir was the result of a spell cast by the former Bravery wizard, in a plot to persist her hatred for monster kind. The spell manifested in two forms, making up both Betty and Akumu, who are intrinsically liked together.
