Im baffled that I need to repeat this, but stop spoiling mechanics, secrets, and plot points for this game. I'm still recording this series, and not everyone here has played this themselves. Do not steal the thrill of discovery from those of us who haven't had the chance yet. I will do a second playthrough where we get every secret possible, so save your spoilers for then. There are no more warnings. I will ban everyone that fails to follow this simple rule.

Unique? Well... It's like a simplified version of YuGiOh, and heavily relies on the "tribute summon" mechanic. The story though? Yeah, it's WAAAY better.

The shuffling puzzle is just like a card game, card in the bottom or first row are in your hand. Second row in play for you. Third you in play for him. Fourth row are in his hand, or to be deployed next turn.

Yep him and manlybadasshero seems to be rly good at these kind of stuff unlike the other guys. Not like they're bad but they keep choosing bad cards and picking the same shit thinking there's some type of meaning behind the mushrooms under the cards.

I must say, I hate how everyone solves the drawer puzzles by trial and error. They do have logic behind them, and it is much more fun to watch people try to legitimately figure out the solutions. It's too bad that the puzzles are too simple and too difficult that it's faster and easier to guess instead of actually understanding and solving them.

It... May actually be possible to beat that big bear wave when you're meant to lose? Maybe? Use both bottled squirrels so that you have three squirrels, sacrifice two to get a wolf in the spot on the right, put the third on the left to block the bear. Draw another squirrel to block the other bear again, so you've now dealt 6 and blocked all the attacks, then if you haven't won you can use the pliers to get a last point of damage? Might try to pull that off if I pick this up at some point.

I'm not sure if that would work, but maybe. When I played, after a few turns they cheat, spawn bears in every slot with fly block, nuking you to force the candle tutorial

The bear fight is literally impossible to win due to it being the fight you’re supposed to learn about candles: even if by some miracle you can set things up, he’ll block lethal damage by spawning bears in all of his empty card slots(including the prep zones) EVERY SINGLE TURN, and he simply doesn’t allow you to use the pliers to add a tooth if he’s one away from losing: in fact, later on, there’s a few other fights where the army of airborne bears will make a return, and iirc, you have to be at least on your third run before you’re actually able to make progression onto the new stuff that wasn’t unearthed by the data miners(might take more depending on how long it takes you to get to those fights, since the KZbinr I watched only died at those fights(and also made a super OP card that not only defeated the ‘secret boss’ the dataminers found, but did more then the 5 damage necessary to extinguish the boss’s last candle in the same turn he killed the boss’s OP card))

Never seen this before, someone on my forums recommended it. Your choices on the prospector made me sad. I woulda hodl'ed the squirrels, popped the stoat opposite the dog (dog did 2 dmg and has 3 hp stoat has 2 dmg and 3 hp) maybe popped down the turtle to tank. Feeding him your squirrels over and over was a losing prospect (no pun intended, lol) since he'd only get ahead and you wouldn't have the sacrifices needed to summon anything. Taking all your units out to make them gold was lame though, I never expected that. Game looks good, thanks for showing it to me.

I have to say, watching youtubers play would be fun but I want to save some of the fun for myself. I still have a great story for my first run. I made it all the way to the 2nd boss and then died to him because apparently you are not allowed to get that far on your very first run. I died but was able to make a monster death card. It had 3 power, 7 health, cost 1, and it had special abilities of does not leave when sacrificed and it gives you 3 blood if used for a sacrifice. I am so ready for my next run when I get home again.

the puzzles are so much easier if you do them later, they are difficult early because you never used those abilities even knowing them the last one was a bit tough

25:28 The only thing I don’t get about this part of the Puzzle is the [Sharp Quills] ability. Having the tile with the [Sharp Quills] on the left side for the opponent side gives 5/5, but for some reason having it on your side gives it 3/5 and removing it off the deck gives it 2/5 which I don’t get. (This is while the other three is untouched)

I think the idea here is that the bifurcated strike card strikes left first and then right so the sharp quills can kill it before it triggers the lizard tail in the 3rd column

Spoiler Territory is where the answer lies, so turn back if you don’t want to have a MAJOR plot point spoiled: however, if you don’t mind getting a glimpse of a plot twist(or having it explained to you, you may...PROCEED) Gonna go a little farther just to be safe, since I dunno how we’l all these walls will work keeping the secrets back on PC Tiny bit more, cause seriously, major spoiler territory ahead: last chance to turn back Okay, so the Stinkbug, Stoat, and Stunted Wolf are all beings that are on a similar power level to the Old Man you fight for all your matches(also known as Leshy) Called Scrybes that create cards through different Mediums: Leshy’s is through his camera, the Stinkbug was a Necromancer(who’s name along with the wolf I can’t remember off the top of my head) who I believe made his via epitaphs, the Wolf was a Wizard who I think made his via paintings, and the Stoat, who’s actual name is PO3, is a sentient robot that well, did robotic things to create his cards; once you defeat Leshy and use the camera on him, unlocking the new game option, you can reset the world to a point before Leshy managed to imprison them all in cards, and while that’s about the farthest I’ve seen anyone else get atm, it seems like you get to make a major decision that may alter how the story plays out right out of the gate(which of the 4 Scrybes your ambition is to other throw and replace), introducing two new different ways of paying for things, which basically boil down to mana and batteries

Yes there are 4 bosses Note if you get to a boss before your round is equal or higher than the number you encountered them in They will just basically kill you and say so you got here to early to prevent you getting too OP I know you’ll find a way to cheese it anyways … There is more than you think there is

I can imagine the kind of end-lore of this game, so I'll bring out my tinfoil hat. As with any roguelike games with a bit sprinkling of PTSD and general depression, the protagonist, which is controlled by the player, is stuck in a loop of the game, giving reason of why the game is roguelike. Naturally, a story heavy games will have to eventually end, but that won't make sense in a repeating roguelikes. So what'd happen? The protagonist, mind-broken, turned into a maniac, is willingly stay in the cabin to play with the slasher-gamemaster-roleplayer dude. Also love the reference with the Black Goat. If only it doesn't cost any blood to play.

I love this game and everything about it, and the video was amazing! I just have one small complaint, especially when you have to end a video mid-sequence. Do you think, rather than continuing on with your recording and just voicing over, you could blur stuff out? It almost feels like spoilers watching the rest of the video while you voice-over, or maybe show highlights from earlier in the video? I know you won't put *OTHER* video content at the end, because it distracts from the rest of the video, it's just the spoilers for the next episode ruins the surprise sometimes! (really eager to hear your commentary about the "rare cards", it seemed like you lingered on them for a bit)

22:22 1/2 Tile with [Anti-Air] does 1 damage. 2/1 Tile damages the 1/2 [Tail] Tile. The 1/2 [Tail] Tile doesn’t take any damage, instead it place a 0/2 Tail where it was, and move to the right as a 1/2 Tile without the [Tail] ability. The next 1/2 [Tail] Tile attack the 1/2 Tile that moves in its way doing no damage. And the last 1/2 [Tail] Tile attack dealing 1 damage. In short, hitting the opponent 1/2 [Tail] Tile both middle Tiles which result in 2 damage.

Went to Steam to check how much this game was and I see it's by the Pony Island and The Hex guy. Knowing him, I won't like the ending and it's going to take a turn at some point where the game claims to steal my IRL soul or something (Daniel Mullins is totally a one trick pony) so, I'm out. If it was a straight up cool atmospheric card game, I'd probably love it.

1:45 Bit of a shame that you sacrificed the Stoat. Not many KZbinr seen the other dialogue where if they didn’t sacrifice it. 11:30 If you were to get close to winning, the GM will attempt to cheat and deploy a swarm of Grizzly Bear (Which the community call it Grizzly Rush). There are a few trick of beating it, such as by taking advantage of the Poison effect to kill the Grizzly and the Flight Effect in front of a non Grizzly card that you can out damage, but that can bug out the game. 14:30 Taking out the Pack Mule would give you a ton of cards, but guess you’ll figure that out on another run 18:30 Pretty sure how this was suppose to play out is that you’re suppose to place the Squirrel below the Rattler and let it get taken out to get a bone. Deploy another Squirrel and sacrifice it for the Stoat on the spot below the Rattler, so you can take out the Rattler without it being able to attack your Stoat, and finally deploy the Possum below the other Rattler (possibly use a Squirrel to tank the hit) 22:15 Pretty sure you’ll learn this later, or you’ll just forget about it completely, but that the Skink ability will detach a tail with 2 HP where it is at and move itself to the right. This mean that if you hit that Skink that is locked on the middle-left, it will block both the middle-left and the middle-right. Such as on 22:59, when you didn’t hit the Skink, the 3/2 tile is unblocked, but when you hit it it move to the right, blocking both. 24:45 For here, the “Mantis” ability on the middle left is hitting the “Skink” ability. The first tile does 1, the second tile should be doing 2 but instead trigger the “Skink” tile and only does 1, The third tile suppose to be able to do 1 damage since it’s left is unblocked, but due to the last tile moving the “Skink” tile, it is ended up blocked both side, And the fourth tile is still blocked.
