"Fear Not This Night" is a song that can be heard at certain points of the Guild Wars 2 story, including the end credits, at the end of the last instance of Victory or Death. An anthem of the Sylvari how popular song is named among Guild Wars 2 players, it is a song of hope sing by the Pale Tree. It is the symbol of the Hero's journey to defend Tyria from the threat of the Elder Dragons. Instrumental variants of the song play, among other things, in the Omphalos Chamber in The Grove and during a pivotal moment in The Source of Orr mission. The theme's instrumental version is briefly referred to during the Pale Tree's Vision Cinematic at the end of the World Summit. It was also played during Hearts and Minds in Heart of Thorns. The second episode for Living World Season 4, featured a short, foreboding "Joko" arrangement of "Fear Not This Night" with slightly altered lyrics. The third version of the song called "Fer Naw This Evening by The Soggy Joko Brothers" was also released on May 4, 2019.

As much as I love this, seeing so many who don't understand the story is just depressing as a veteran player of Guild Wars 2. This song is the lullaby the Pale Tree sings to the Sylvari who are still in the Dream before they're born, who are reformed/unaffected dragon minions. This song is her telling them to keep moving forward despite everything, this is her telling her children to not give up even when the equivalent of their god comes back and demands they bow to his will. I've been a fan of this game for over three years, and I wish that we had more content creators behind it, it's honest to God the most creative and original MMO I have ever played, the game is beautiful and painful and so so so so worth it even if you play for only a few days. In my opinion, Sylvari are the main cannon story, as so much happens in the lore that only happens in the Sylvari campaign, getting Caladbolg, knowing Trahearn before Claw Island, Mordremoth talking to them and manipulating them, the Pale Mother herself. Guild Wars 2 is a fantastic game, and if this comment or this song convinced you to give it a try, I'm glad. We love meeting new players

Very well done. One of the best things about GW2 is how the music and story shape, reflect, and intertwine with each other. My favorite example is how Crystal Oasis and Glint's Legacy both have Glint's undertones, and the music played at the final cutscene of War Eternal has elements from both of those pieces in the background, calling back to the origins and events leading to the present, while the lead motif celebrates the current events.

I have a little poem for you guys. I still remember a vivid nightmare. What happened in it, is an odd synchronicity to this song and the photos as shown in the music video. It seems that the contents of my nightmare is like a yang to the ying of the song. And together, they form a type of elaborate dance. Enjoy Countless stars sparkle in the night sky as though jewels were casted about an obsidian crystal cave. A full moon illuminates a grey and lifeless forest, casting the place in a silver twilight. Occasional gusts of wind run through the barren trees, creating unearthly noises as if from wailing ghosts. Other than the wind, no type of sound could be heard, natural or artificial. Flurries made of fine dirt mixed with midnight dew drift across a broken cobblestone path. Following it, a lone figure walks forth with silent footsteps. The person's posture clearly exhibiting feelings of anxiety and paranoia, attention with all senses is stretched to its limit. With a rampant imagination, and unbridled thoughts, the mind comes to frightful delusions. Monstrous creatures are made manifest from distorted shadows that are formed by twisted trees of the forest. Carried by the fading wind, a dense fog rolls in. As the wind comes to a stop, the inversion is settled in stagnant air, disconnecting the land from the rest of the world. At last, all sounds cease to be, and the bright moonlit land greatly dims under the eerie shroud. In this final state, truly, there is a sensation of claustrophobia, separation, and hopelessness. For where is the light of the sun, or even, the light from within oneself?
