Guys I LOVE your work. I am a young-ish Catholic priest, grew up agnostic-socialist and was so fascinated by Latin chant and gothic architecture (as of course by Tolkien, Fantasy literature etc.) as a young man that I started going to church - where they told me that Latin was outdated, pre-conciliar etc. you know the drill. Well in the end I became a parish priest with a Gothic revival cathedral to run, and I can bring in as much Latin as possible. God always has His own ways. Music like this has to be sung by people who really mean it, like these guys. It's all too easy for a professional choir to rattle music off, without believing a word of it! So which is worse: someone not believing in the real presence, or someone literally afraid for his life because he found a crumb in his mouth from breakfast after he just took communion? Or again, do we really want bishops who are staunchly orthodox living lavish lifestyles at the expense of their people? I don't think Vat II was a disaster. God is never dismayed. He is sovereign. There will always be disagreement between sin-cursed humans, even in the church, but so long as we confess with our mouths the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in our heart that God has raised Him from the dead, we will be saved (Rom. 10:9). As an evangelical who was raised to think that Catholics were unbelievers stuck in a works-based system of righteousness, I am continually impressed by Clamavi de Profundis's stand for those core truths of Christianity. I look forward to the day when all the Church of Christ will be united under the same banner, and we can sing together the praise of His glorious grace.

I wouldn't say that Latin is dead at all, it is alive in and throughout many of the correlaries throughout the romantic languages.
