Real love is not scary cause it's comforting it doesn't comes and goes in waves it's stable and always helping and be practicaly helping all the time, we are scared cause we can't translate our hardships of life into God's love, if it's scary it's not love Rabbi you are a wonderful innocent soul but truly there are numerous nutcases out there and love is such an easy word. God certainly loves us even when we don't feel it (because He gives us what we need not what we want , cause the advancement of our souls is the point and not have a good time on earth , like I give my son beans when he wants chocolate), but with humans when you see a red flag run , p.e. you lose your house or you are sick or in stressful situations you have nowhere to go and they ignore you not help you and when you are at your good times they remember you = red flag. They overcompliment you one day and they trash you the next = red flag , they promise big and in times of crises they have their own problems and give zero practical help = red flag , they talk too much about their love (it makes them look good) and how special it is = red flag if they thought you are special they wouldn't think that much of themselves for loving you , they would be more humble with their feelings. And so many more red flags.

We are instructed to love G-d with all our heart. But what do you tell a person that doesn't know what love is? They've never felt love. Therefore they have no love and they cant give love because you can't give what you don't have. How is a person that has walked through life like this, ever able to believe G-d loves them. Because hearing from other people and reading it wont do the trick

I also grew up unloved. But as a result as a child i came to look to G-d as a friend who i could tell everything that upset me. I became religious, having to fight my mother to do so because i didnt want to do anything to hurt my relationship with G-d. You see the world in a very different way when you realize that G-d is in charge running the world and there is a plan. I just found speaking to G-d in my own words about everything, i could feel his love and saw He cares and answers prayers
