They can't stay of it. There are riches in Haiti. That mantra "Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere" is an inside joke. If they repeat it often and loud enough, no one will investigate what it is the US and other nations are enriching themselves with hand over fist. The US flies planes over Haiti on a daily basis. Whatever it is that Haiti has, the US makes sure no one will get to it. The US is that insane lover that scars the woman and locks her up in a closet, laughing while she cries and screams. He knows no one will ever rescue her, and she is so damaged, she's afraid of actually being set free.

@scout There is no doubt that they are behind, just like all the previous coups. Now they have more reasons, since they discover, oil, uranium, gold marble, gravel, for construction, sulfur (which a boat sucked dry during the earthquake tragedie) Canada had already exploited our red copper in the 1970s, Now the Clintons are digging gold mine. They are claiming that Haiti is poor, but it is to them the hen with golden eggs. It is a trick for not attracting attention of other vultures.

BRILLIANT!! Thank you for this history lesson because I couldn't understand why Haiti would sign such an agreement. France came with warships with guns pointing at the island so they were caught between a rock and a hard place. Haiti is my neighbor. Love from Jamaica. You didn't include what happened to Peraltae who was killed by America who tied his body on a door and paraded it in the streets. Also made flyers of his dead image tied to the door & threw them over the island. You forgot to write how Roosevelt wrote Haitian constitution even though he was American president. Even today Haiti is dominated by UN tanks under the guise of peace keeping.

Dude you're way off. first of all, if you Google Haiti 1820 embargo, you will see how many European country's that sided with France, cause they knew the only way to force Haiti to pay France reparation was, put embargo on haiti, and also isolate Haiti from trading.prior to that, France had tried twice, the first time dessalines laught at napoleon's. the second time was 15 year's later after dessalines death, and king Henry Christophe sent back some of the French convoy in the opposite of intack. and France knew a ground battle wouldn't be a smart moved cause Haiti had already beat them twice, one time in the Dominican republic and the other in Haiti, Spain and England also got beat in Haiti prior. the only choice left was, France and it's Ally's to put embargo, and isolate Haiti from trading until Haiti agree to pay France reparation.and with no other independent black nation for Haiti to trade with, Jean Pierre Boyer knew an isolated haiti wouldn't been able to trade would have been devastated, so he agreed to pay the wrongful reparation. and regarding haiti's Constitution written by a non Haitian, remember, the original Constitution was written in 1805,by emperor dessalines, anything other after that, wether it was through a real referendum or a fake one, it doesn't mean scrap, cause Haiti was made in 1804 by winning a 13 year's straight war with Spain, England, and france.haiti didn't get it independence through humanitarian efforts in 1962, with a head of state still in England, so all crabs in a barrel need to get it straight. in 1915, the cacos of Haiti fought to the end and they won. it was after, the Marines called for earial strikes on the cacos, and Haiti was the first country in the world to experienced airstrikes, 15 year's after the invention of airstrikes.

I appreciate your honest approach. As a man of God I must tell you the spiritual version of it which goes beyond 1804. The Haitians are from the dispersed Southern tribes of Israel who were scattered by the Romans in A.D. 70. Certainly, a lot of them served Baal in biblical times, and got chastised for it. 1804 was different, the gods of voodoo are there for their demise, not to help them. Only the God of gods can deliver an enslaved people from the 3 most powerful nations in the world at that time. Toussaint was not only fighting Napoleon's army, but also the Spaniards, the English and this is not even counting the mercenary soldiers from Europe. For your information, rumor has it that most of the Haitians may be from among the levitical priesthood (the Maccabes).

There should be a study on the Haitian descendants of African American families that emigrated to Haiti. The emigration of African Americans out of the United States of America, North America down to Haiti, Hispaniola, French West Indies occurred from 1804 to 1826, 1859 to 1865, and post Civil War.
