It also makes sense that they would be thinking of the things that are scared of in that moment-the immediate threat-while the crafter of this story had been keeping a careful log of what would fill them with a soul deep dread.

Both Brennan's imagery and Siobhan's empathy and emotional maturity birthed one of the most beautiful scene of fiction I've ever seen. The image of an old sad Adaine all in black all alone... “It’s scarier to keep fighting than it is to give up”, because of the anxiety from the idea that no matter how hard you fight it’ll still end horribly for you and all your efforts would be in vain and you’d be worse off by your own hands. That part was so deep. Because giving up is taking control of the situation, knowing how it’ll end. But to fight and throw your efforts before the whims of fate, not knowing what could come. Man that hit. This whole episode is wild

i posted something like this on the original video when i watched this a year ago, but here it is again: as an aroace person, riz's fears about his friends finding people they care about more than him and then subsequently choosing to leave him behind really hit home. aromantic and asexual representation is so limited in media, and having these feelings be voiced by brennan and brian was so validating.

@nejc1821

I see a lot of people talk about this from an aroace perspective (for good reason, I consider Riz as and read his fears through an aroace perspective) and I just wanna add that even as someone who isn't aroace he is one of the most relatable characters ever for me. His fears can definitely also translate to someone like me who has extremely low confidence, who isn't conventionally attractive and who's romantically stunted. I definitely grapple with the fear of always being second best for my friends and the devaluing of our platonic relationships, as well as being "lesser" in some way. I guess it's kind of obvious cause I think the fear of being left behind is pretty universal but it's just cool how much he can mean to so many people.
@lyndonwesthaven6623
@lyndonwesthaven6623 3 ай бұрын
Half my sympathy for Riz is on the aroace side, but the other is that I'm also someone who didn't manage to find their first friend group until high school. And when you're that late, you really don't have much confidence in your basic social competence, to the point where flirting seems completely out of reach. I kind of had to build my confidence to the point where 'Do I want a partner?' didn't seem like a stupid question to even be asking

(im fucking sobbing) 2:07:28 the fact that i have not found such a quality in myself doesn't mean figueroth could not find something in me worthwhile (figayda!!!!!!!!) 2:08:38 i sit down and write the song "she likes me for me" 2:13:14 i do not know why i was so easy to discard (OOF) 2:26:32 cw: angwyn is fucking horrifying 2:27:34 is this what happens every night for people who sleep with blankets??!?!!!! *if you haven't seen neverafter just ignore this one

The line "I don't know why I was so easily discarded" sliced through me. I started sobbing and couldn't stop myself. Untill Adaine said to "Do you not see how good I am?" It shifted my reality for the positive. The person that wallows in their misery and refuses for decades to evolve out of it pulled me in too. All my love and dedication couldn't save them, it just made me go deeper into that selfpity mud trying to get them out. It breaks my heart letting them go. It makes me so sad and so desperate to try over and over again. But enough is enough. All my dedication, love, understanding and care aren't ever going to be enough. I can't pull them out if they do not want to be pulled out. And I refuse to live by wallowing in the mud, when I can fly to the highest highs and dive to the deepest depths. Just because that mud is familiar, doesn't mean it's actually comforting. I am letting go. Forever.

I think what I love most about the portrayal of Riz's fear of being alone is when he's still not put words to his feelings. The terror of being alone was something I felt before I realised I am aro-ace. I saw everyone around me dating in school and uni; and I knew that my parents only saw their friends a few times a year due to work and family. That fear that I'd be forgotten and alone made me desperate to find a partner, blocking out all the confusion about what I'd do in a relationship and the way that I wouldn't feel comfortable being physically intimate. Once I finally came to terms with being aro-ace, the pressure gradually disappeared without me noticing. I stopped disliking my body and personality so much because I wasn't blaming them for being unsuccessful romantically. I started to just enjoy the time I have with people now, rather overthinking the potential futures.

Its so wild that the idea to get high as a kite in a cursed forest and induce a bad trip was not only suggested, but this likely being the best course of action is why TTRPGs are so great Also, Brennan mostly uses his powers for good, but this episode really shows that he could really, REALLY be using them for Great Evil

I have no clue what level of things for this show you guys have written and made a story for beforehand, but this one feels like you took off to a whole new level yourself. This was INSANE! And to repeat others. The mix of horrors and just gag replays to erlier story xD incredible. I laughed, I cried, I had goosebumps and chills and loved all of this. Holy shit man. Just holy shit!

So, so much of this is so good- but the bit that had me absolutely dying was Adaine with her elder self. Absolutely wept. Adore the fact that Brennan had them improve their scores based on their character growth! Loved that mechanical bit! Just so, so good, the whole thing. Also… It’s Gorgug, keep going, had me tearing up so hard!
