@@Wickedreptiles there's no way it could've, it would've had to go all the way back and head-butt into the door, and even then it would've had trouble and it would've intentionally injured itself. those types of doors are a bit more impact-resist than regular glass, it often has multiple layers of glass with small spacers in-between to absorb the impact as the glass wobbles.

@@markallen4364 I think the puma would disappear like a ghost as soon as the human approached the door. These cats aren't reckless, and were hunted to near extinction, so they have a deep seated fear of humans, and rightfully so. I've seen so many odd and outrageous and unexpected interactions between animals here on KZbin over the years that I can't call it, but I'm not going to assume that the puma would immediately attack the dog, because he's making no aggressive moves or engaging in a threat display, which probably means he's had a meal. Hungry and/or aggressive pumas act much, much differently than this one is. They're lightning fast, and hiss and spit like crazy when they're pissed off, charging with their two front paws extended. All claws and teeth. It's fucking scary. This seems much more like curiosity. The dog seems cool with it, and they're making eye contact, so if the puma wasn't happy about it I'm sure he'd smash against the door a few times, or at least snarl a little. But he does none of that. So if the door was magically opened, anything weird might happen. But I'm betting the dog would run up to the puma, the puma would hold his ground and the two would come close to touching noses in an effort to sniff one another. The dog would likely do something silly, since he seems like a happy go lucky kind of fella, and he would do some 'play with me' poses or jump around and try to make contact with the big kitty. Some dogs like kitties. It just is what it is. I doubt very much the puma would engage in any play with the dog. The puma is an adult, and not in a safe environment. So he would likely hiss and run off, much to the puppers regret. I'm not sure if the puma knows what a dog is, even, since how could he? Hence the curiosity. He might bat the dog a little, but a couple sniffs and he'd be gone. That's what I genuinely believe.

@@JohnSmith-mk1rj I didn't see anything beyond curiosity either and I've had an encounter with a hungry cougar with nothing but a tent wall and 3 feet of air between us. I scared it off from inside the tent in the middle of the night and it didn't come back that we know of. I had gone camping with friends and brought my new baby bunny along (he was a few months old but I had just bought him) and he was inside a lil toy bin thing without a lid, snuggling in my friend's husbands jacket. My baby bunny slept through the whole thing lol.

Yeah, the kitty was just curious. If Dash had backed up or run away, probably would have turned hunting instincts on. Staying calm and collected assessing the situation while knowing he was safe(ish) behind the glass, was the most reasonable course of action... Then he started wagging his tail because he notice there wasn't any aggressive behavior whatsoever. So maybe a new kitty friend.

You need to train dogs to know a tone of your voice is serious With my dog I have a playful “come here” that isn’t that important or urgent But I also have a stern “Come. Here.” He’ll listen to that one after I do it once or twice even if he’s angry, distracted or stubborn.

@@DeannaWhitley dogs kind of learn to listen just from the change in tone. Since my dog was a puppy if he was doing something bad I would say a stern “No” with one finger up and when he didn’t listen I would say “AH AH” to get his attention back and then “No” again. You use the same tone for the “Come. Here.” And it just works. You have to project your voice out clear and loud. No yelling of course.
