Fearofdark - Hopeless Romantic (Ensonic ES5503 + PCM cover) (Furnace tracker) (Oscilloscope view)

Well, this is the first time I ever decided to use the ES5503! It is a wavetable-pcm hybrid that was used mainly on the apple ][gs and some arcades, and I originally tought it was a very dificult chip to work on (because of some of it's limitations), however I decided to accept the challenge of working with something new and never before explored.
This was made with furnace-b, a fork of furnace that has a few additional features, that can be found here: github.com/LTV...

Vgm: Well, I was able to export the vgm for this track, however the melody did sound a lot out of tune, so I decided to not include the vgm this time.

@@YgorG I'm curious, where are those drum sounds from? are they independent samples or part of the chip? sorry for the noob question haha. those drums just sound really crisp and trance-y!

@@skybldev Nah, that's not a noob question! These samples come from a separate pcm soundchip that I used (a konami one with 4 channels), that allowed for the samples to be cleaner and crispier. These come from a roland JD-800 dance card expantion (that added some other drum sounds to the synth) if you want to check them out!

Oh, VGM export for ES5503 is still questionable. Maybe I got clock speeds wrong? Or MAME emulation isn't great

I think the vgm export might be a bit off because of the overclock that I made on the ES5503 I think.

@@YgorG yes, but I remember it going out of tune even with default clock. Btw, need to check if ES5503 clock is written to VGM file header
