Glad you posted this compilation of Pascoe, mate! I especially like how you showed some footage of him bowling in England in 1977 and against India in 1981 - where I think he bowled some of his quickest spells. That recollection of Larwood talking about needing a bit of devil was brilliant as well!

He was a fearsome quickie- looked mean. I believe he went to school With Jeff Thomson- quite an opening attack for a school team!

The era of Len Pascoe, Jeff Thomson, and Dennis Lillee was a golden age for fast bowling in cricket. These legendary bowlers were not just players; they were artists, sculpting the game with their raw pace, skill, and sheer determination. Each delivery was a masterpiece, a testament to their class and unmatched talent. Len Pascoe, with his smooth run-up and explosive deliveries, struck fear into the hearts of batsmen. His ability to swing the ball both ways made him a nightmare for even the most experienced players. Jeff Thomson, known as "Thommo," was a force of nature, bowling at blistering speeds that seemed almost inhuman. Batsmen could only watch in awe as his thunderbolts whizzed past them. And then there was Dennis Lillee, a true maestro of fast bowling. His graceful yet lethal bowling action made him a sight to behold. With his precise line and length, Lillee could dismantle any batting lineup with ease. Together, these three formed a trio of fast bowlers that was simply unparalleled. Their impact on the game transcended statistics; they inspired generations of cricketers to take up fast bowling. Even today, their names are spoken of with reverence, a reminder of a bygone era when fast bowling was an art form. Len Pascoe, Jeff Thomson, and Dennis Lillee were not just fast bowlers; they were the epitome of excellence, the class of their own. IM FROM INDIA NOW 60 WAS A BIG FAN OF FAST BOWLING RICHARD HADLEE KAPIL DEV WERE EQUALLY GOOD.

On his day, world class - classical side on action and a full follow through and an ability to take wickets with his poorer deliveries because batsmen took risks then, having survived his previous deliveries which were top class and challenging. The action wasn't as expansive as Lillee's but it worked extremely well as he, like Marshall, got close to the crease and ran through. And Larwood was right, he had the attitude to go right at batsmen.

That must have been just about every wicket he took.

tremendous ODI figures in particular, Mr Pascoe... a forgotten figure in the annals of Australian cricket, and I think because he was overshadowed by the likes of characters Lillee and Thommo at the time, dare I say it, somewhat overrated a bowler also.
