0:28 Sometimes I think to myself what Cronenberg was saying on set. “This place needs a picture of Hitler in a tutu.” “…I’m sorry, you want what now, Mr. Cronenberg?” “I don’t think I was asking.”

i noticed this when i first watched the movie recently, and it bothered me to no end since it was such a strange detail. videodrome isn't an easy movie to get people interested in, so i was just constantly thinking back to this little detail with no way to talk to someone about it. thank you for bringing it up, just so i know someone else had a similar reaction.

I would definitely go full videodrome for Debbie Harry, without hesitation.

i wouldn't. there's always going to be someone even more attractive. just like there's always going to be someone smarter / stronger / more talented / etc.

just replace the word television with smartphone and you can get a sense of how ahead of it's time this movie was

lol no just television. Most of what you beleive to be reality came from television even if you’re old.

Completely agree, this movie reflects our reality more now than ever

it can be replaced with any form of information transfer that news companies have used; you can already see in the current political landscape that people are being indoctrinated by those charismatic enough to broadcast their way into the minds of others into following dangerous ideologies.
