Oh man bro, my grandfather, grandma, and all their brothers and sisters! Sadly they have all all passed on, we still try (especially me) hang on to our heritage, especially Christmas Eve, sadly these broken accents are no longer heard in our family.Sometimes, I am assuming they didn't want us to know what they were saying. they would speak Italian. We are now all born and raised "Americanos" I am sure your'e your grandfather was a great man and like my grandfather valued family, loyalty, motherland, and homeland( my grandfather was born in Italy, came here, I am 3rd generation Italian) Our grandfathers may be having a glass of dago red vino up there and I bet they have some glasses put aside for future souls.I love my dad to death, all my family, but the person I most enjoyed being around was my grandfather. I am so glad my family knows and loves we are Americans, but never forgot we come from Basilicatta Italy.

MY FATHER WAS ITALIAN, HIS MOTHER WAS THE GREATEST COOK IN THE WORLD. I REMEMBER, COOKED THIS FOR THIS HOLY FEAST DAY WE USED FIVE DIFFERENT TYPES, BUT IT WAS GOOD ON CHRISTMAS EVE. WE FASTED AND ATE ONLY FISH THAT NIGHT, BIGGER FEAST ON CHRISTMAS DAY. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR RECIPIES. I MADE EGGPLANT PARMASEAN 2 TIMES ALREADY. GOD BLESS YOU.

I am of Italia, Irish, German, Puerto Rican decent, every Christmas Eve we do the Feast of the 7 fishes, we used to cook a lot of it ourselves, but now it's hard for my Mom and Grandmother, but thanks to you I can now makes this at least, and the fish filets aren't hard, the ones we get you just bake them in the oven, everything else we order from an Italian place we like Pizziola. Salute

Sorry man, I feel you, my grandma and mom have both passed on...I cook Christmas Eve dinner now and do a good job, but miss being a kid when grandma did it and my grandpap was at the head of the table. Not everyone in family was fish fanatics, me and my uncle Ronny absolutely devoured everything she made, we'd play cards after, Christmas Eve is still to this day my favorite holiday meal, Love Thanksgiving, but Christmas Eve is on another level. Always got a ton of leftovers cause of the 11 of us that were there me and unc were only two that truly enjoyed it. My mom and cousins hated it, barely ate...the smelts and the macaroni with red sauce and calimari were fucking amazing...

Many members of my close family died, others moved away and disappeared never to be heard from ...... I cannot tell you how this video is a priceless Italian treasure. Many of the old traditions disappeared with my family...... Food prepared with this kind of love has to be delicious....it comes from the heart....I was too young to appreciate what was happening in the kitchen. All I knew was- provolone smelled like my feet. A child just being a child....When we grow up we see what our family tried to instill in us. God Bless you my friend, Merry Christmas, and stay well....

Bonjour Monsieur, what you show here pleases me very very much. First, I like your style of cooking and of being just you. I tried out your surprising green cabbage pesto, just delicious with pasta. Second, you prepare this big family Christmas meal with so much love and last but not least, such an insalata di frutti de mare is my absolute favorite preferred dish, you should see all the water that is coming out of my mouth looking at that! May you have a peaceful Christmas time and a happy new year, my best wishes to you and all your family, Christian from Alsace, France.

Do you eat the cooked lemon seeds? You drained the fresh lemon but when you added lemon juice to the water seeds went into the water. The shrimp shells would make a nice broth to cook the seafood instead of plain water.

A plate from heaven!! YUMMMM!!!! :D :D You never stop to amaze me! Question: do you have a recipe for "crocchette di gamberi"? The one with the little gray shrimps (specialty from Belgium and cooked on the fishermen's boats in seawater immediately after being caught)? I've made a batch of these "crocchette" (or as we say in Belgium 'garnaalkroket') yesterday, and after having been set in the fridge for 16 hours - which IS a must for them - and covering them with the necessary coats of flower, egg and breadcrumbs, the taste is PERFECT, and I seriously mean perfect, but the inside is to runny when cutting them open (after baking in hot oil, 180°C and golden brown of course). Ps: I've looked up the recipe of several well known Belgian Chef's, who should be very at home with these, but none seem to work out very well for me when it comes to the inside consistence they actually need. Which is firm, not runny. Would you, Pasquale - or anyone who knows the recipe - give me a helping hand on what to do to get that firm inside? Cheers and thanks in advance! Greetings from Belgium! OW forgot something VERY important: people, when you make this fish salad, make sure to have FRESH products, preferably caught the same day, not frozen ones. Trust me, you do NOT want to cook frozen products that long, unless you want your guests and yourself to chew for half an hour on a piece of calamari. Besides, you'll never get that good taste anyway with frozen seafood. Just sharing my experiences on that one. ;)
