Can you imagine what it would be like if there was a famine of God's Word today? The chaos that is, would be magnified over and over. To live without God's word, is like to starve yourself. prolonged it would be a voluntary suicide. Now most out there will not miss their 3 squares a day, some more and some less than others, but still the physique is cherished enough, but what about the soul?

There may be a famine of good preaching today - because in the old days at least guilt reminded one of accountability and responsibility, which led many to tears realizing in failure repentance was needed. Not so much today if at all, altar calls are skipped or watered down (not wanting to offend anyone). Sin is Sin, and people like Moody, Spurgeon, Sunday, Graham, Rogers, Barnhouse, McGee and others did not skirt back in preaching it.
