What's up feasters, you "do nut" have to travel all the way to Big Donut to try out Steven's favorite Donut! Now you can make it in your own kitchen!
INGREDIENTS:
Donut
1 cup + 1 tsp all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
⅓ c. granulated sugar
2 tbsp unsalted butter
¼ c whole milk,
¼ c warm plain yogurt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg, beaten
Glaze
1 cups powdered sugar sifted
2 tbsp. Beet juice
1 tsp. Lemon juice
1/4 tsp. Strawberry flavoring
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a doughnut pan.
2. Sift the flours and baking powder together into a large bowl. Whisk in the sugar, nutmeg, and salt. Add the butter and use your fingers or a fork to mix into the dry ingredients as you would in making a pastry crust, until evenly distributed. Add the milk, yogurt, vanilla, and egg and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
3.Use a piping bag or a spoon to fill the doughnut pan 3/4th of the way full. Bake until doughnuts are a light golden brown and spring back when touched, about 15 minutes. Let cool slightly before glazing.
4. While doughnuts are baking, prepare the glaze. Add powdered sugar to a bowl and stir in beet juice, lemon juice and strawberry flavoring. Stir until combined.
5. Dip donuts into glaze. Place on parchment lined tray. Add sprinkles.
