This feat gave me a character/npc concept of a warlock who makes contracts with Patrons, Said patrons give him power that he cultivates on his own until level 20. Then they give that power back to the patron to use as they see fit for a reward. Then the patron uses that power to enhance themselves, on weapons or simply create something new with that cultivated power. Because its easier for something weak to grow than for something that already so powerful to get any stronger. Basically its "I could do all this work, or I can let someone do it for me for a reward after the job" The warlock gives back the power, is reduced bac to level one and moves on to the next patron, be it infernal, celestial or fey. They will do it for the right price and boon (like a specific patron feature or something). I can see this feat be given to this person for every completed power cultivation contract. So this concept is a way to justify a free feat for a warlock player or an NPC with a lot of invocations and experience about the world without them overshadowing the party, because they had to start from square one like them. Basically it justifies an NPC of "legendary standing" despite the fact you meet them at like lv 5 and could possibly kill them without it being bullshit. And that's my TED-TALK.

For a feat that is completely fair (it’s literally all u get and theirs way better feats u could pick like lucky). Honestly it’s good feat but I feel like it should do something else. Like raise an ability score (maybe Cha, wis, or Int). It doesn’t feel like enough. Especially since u can’t pick most of em since they require a prerequisite that u can only get by actually going into warlock. It’s a cool idea but the options r quite limited and the fact that it’s all u get. It feels like it’s really missing something. This feat is far from busted.

Anything within 10ft of you will be "seen". This also stacks with the Polarm Master Feat so you can make an Opportunity Attack the moment the enemy steps into your Blind Sight. And since Polarm Master generally activates before your turn. Your Reaction is refreshed. And you don't get the draw backs of Darkvision with Blind Fighting Style, outside of range.

This feat can be useful, if you get it without spending an ability score increase. Keep in mind, while it has it's uses as an additional powerful invocation for Warlock, it's offerings for *non-Warlock* classes leaves something to be desired. Several of these invocations are basically other feats with restrictions, and there's really only 3 unique options: *Devil's Sight* - Probably the reason why this feat exists. It's made to be used in tandem with the darkness spell. Of course, unless your whole party is rocking this feat, this style of play could lead to more problems for your team than benefits. On the flip side, simply getting dark vision on a race that doesn't normally get it is not necessarily a bad tradeoff depending on the scenario. *Eldtritch Sight* - Strong, but ultimately useless if you have even one ritual spell caster in your party. Heck, taking the ritual caster feat is a much better option and will allow your character to take on the role of utility caster. *Eyes of the Runekeeper* - Useful specifically if you're playing modules or AL. This is because pre-written stuff normally has obstacles that are much easier to overcome if you can read the warnings/riddle associated with it. These instances are much rarer in homebrew and may not even occur depending on your DM. Additionally, some are completely useless or simply don't work: *Armor of Shadows* - Maybe for a low level one-off, but if you aren't a spell caster then you can wear armor. The moment you get a +1 studded leather set you'll be changing the invocation to something else. *Beguiling Influence* - Why would you take this? If you're a charisma character you should already have one of these skills, and if you aren't, then why would you give up an ability score increase for this? *Eldritch Mind* - Warcaster is straight up better and Resilient (Constitution) could be more valuable if you aren't proficient in constitution saving throws. *Thief of Five Fates* - you can't use this without being a warlock due to the wording.

Having free mage armor with Armor of Shadows doesn't sound bad if you don't have armor proficiencies. For a water themed sorcerer I want to play at some point, taking the feat for this and flavoring it as ice armor, while not only being cool, sounds also like the best and easiest way to get better AC until I get Elven Chain, and this is probably also true for any caster without armor profs
@CamperCarl003 жыл бұрын
@@arikaaa69 That's fine if you want to do it for flavor reasons, but the same result is obtained by simply having Mage armor in your spell list. In reality, the only real thing you are getting by doing so is a 1st level spell slot at the expense of a feat/stat upgrade. This is due to mage armor having no concentration with an 8 hour duration. Even in the worst scenario, you would only cast Mage armor twice. Additionally, you can't swap out feats, which means once you get your elven chain you'll begin to regret not doing something else. A sorcerer's spell list on the other hand, can be changed at each level up.

@@CamperCarl00 I mean being able to cast mage armor at will is really good on the abjuration wizard since it recharges their ward. U could multiclass into warlock to get this but that means u have to worry about Cha and Int now. While with this it’s just int. Other then that yea I don’t see it as worth a feat. Like mage armor is good but not worth a whole feat slot. I mean since u can change it u could just have mage armor for a bit and then change it. It’s definitely really good early game.

Aside from Devil's sight, it seems a bit weak to me if you are not a warlock. You are blocked off by higher end level EI because it requires a warlock level, and some lower level ones are tied to specific pacts, or boost eldritch blast. You pretty much listed all of the useful ones, and I can't really see this being game breaking and even being game breaking in the future as more powerful EI will be for Warlock only.
