There's a reason why Feather is now my "sometimes" deck. It's strong and resilient and attacks on quite a few different axis. It's not too strong for the playgroup, but it does harvest the salt when it's out.

Commander Mechanic did a video a few weeks ago about a Feather Dragonstorm deck that seemed kinda cool. That was the first time I've thought about any Feather deck in a long time.

I had a Feather deck once. Felt too linear for my tastes and ended up giving away the entire deck to a new player at my LGS, along with my Ghalta deck, so he could start playing EDH with his cousin. I've been considering trying Feather again as a flicker deck. With the number of Flicker spells in white, should be doable. Red also gives me access to all kinds of fun ETB's that Azorious flicker doesn't.

I was literally just building this deck, as a general under an archangel avacyn deck getting heaps of blink instants that I can recycle. Such an underrated Boros legend.

If you target goldspan with your feather in play, you make treasure because it was targeted. you can actually increase your total mana with cards like reckless rage.

since Feather released, I am looking for a good list. I super agree that the skill required to build an actual good Feather deck is extremely high and I may yet to find a list that's solid.

Interesting card I've put in my Feather deck is Anax and Cymede. It does the same thing the other mono-white two drop does, but I feel it is a bit stronger because of the trample it grants to the team. Although it is one more mana, CMC-wise, it's also a 3/3 for 1RW. It would be interesting to see if Anax and Cymede would be a good fit for this Feather build.

the other downside for Anax and Cymede is that you specifically have to target them with a spell, whereas Leonin Lightscribe is just happy when anything gets cast.

I love Mavinda, and that card seems great at first, but now that I've played it a few times, I wonder if Mavinda is that good here. If Feather is doing her thing, Mavinda has nothing to recur, right?

Usually its Zada, not feather, that goes crazy, especially early.

Do you have a decklist? i recently built a Feather list and you're right in that it's one of the hardest decks to cut down to 100 for.

Heaven's gate and dwarven song are cards I'd recommend running if you're not already. They both target any number of creatures at instant speed for 1 mana.

I'm sure it also helped that no one had relevant interaction. There was one creature boardwipe, which was cast before the relevant creatures were out, essentially only to get rid of Feather while an active Smothering Tithe was there, so increasing the tax was absolutely irrelevant. I thought Vega was kind of a control deck? Where interaction?

Yeah thank MTGO they just didnt draw much of it. There were about 4 key pieces that needed to be blown up that werent so we just ran away with it.

yeah, you said it multiple times and I should hope everyone is aware of it by now, but Smothering Tithe needs dealing with; and Feather really is a deck that demands a lot of interaction due to the protection spells it runs (which you didn't draw any of this game but still)

I've been playing with the same group for a while now and my decks seem to fall short every week. I've been watching your videos for a while now and Feather seems really fun and unique. Would it be possible to build a strong Feather deck, maybe around power level 8 or so? I'm looking for something different and Feather is definitely outside of my usual play style haha

Absolutely. People were attempting her at cedh level, she was a little slow for that one but overall is very strong. Your budget will matter a lot here. Goldspan Dragon and Smothering Tithe are hugely impactful, and if you can splurge for it feast and famine. But all of the newer mana producing cards are pretty budget friendly so that is nice.

I think the only issue is that you then need another creature, and feather tends to be on the lighter side of creatures. But its not an awful idea either, if you set it up things will go crazy

@@CommanderReplay the build on this run would probably work enough. Solemn, the dwarf that makes treasures, and dockside would be enough. And it would be decently easily triggered each turn.

I play feather, she`s my prime commander.., the worst thing you could play with feather is her combo draws and win the game. there is a reason why she has red spells that could make her so dangerous.., people who try to play feather and thinking that she can`t win in multiplayer EDH? they are wrong and we can prove that to them. but watch out for those blue players that hate feather on the board. protection is needed before casting feather.

Yeah after the 2 games I filmed in the series I realized how good feather has become. Shes really benefited from a number of cards that were printed after her release like aria, and all of the stuff that makes mana. She was always decent, but i think all of these changes have pushed her into insane territory.

Now? Feather was never NOT crazy... I really don't like seeing Feather across the table; I can't let them play magic or they take over every game. A feather player will always be targeted by me, and I'll try to politic the table in a way they see the value the Feather is getting as well. Just too good of a cmdr to let do their thing. Ranks up there with the likes of Meren, Muldrotha, Aesi, and Tatyova. If the feather player has a 1 cmc protection spell, a cantrip, and a removal spell, it literally takes the efforts of the entire table to break up that value train. And then the Feather player sits there sad, doing nothing the rest of the game...just not cool for both parties...at least in my IRL playgroups

I hate feather so damn much, it's got too much free value, basically muldrotha for instants at 3 mana. The table has to unanimously stomp the feather player out of the game THEN the game can begin. Such bad design.

I took Zada and the dragon out and haven't looked back. It was always too much to do at once. I put in brash taunter. He is good with white beast within :) and such.

I understand but the more you are doing means usually your synergy is very high and can win you games because of how much you are impacting the game .

@@a.artmaster8733 that's my point. The spell doublers arent as good as they seem. They never worked great for me. I put in akroan consriptor last week as well and he alone won me a game stealing a blighsteel colossus and 2 massive hydras. Brash taunter has also won me games or makes it so no one attacks me for a while. I would give them a try at least. Brash taunter synergizes so well with fall of the hammer, chandras ignition,orims thunder, intimidation bolt ect ect. The only token makers I use are pyromancer and the monk. I usually need the blockers.

@@Goodthrust69 I’ll take your word for it, and not gonna lie the Akroan conscriptor seems sweet. Stealing creatures always gets people. But if by “took out the dragon” you meant took out Goldspan Dragon then you better put that back in! Too good by its self.
