At 7:38 minutes, please mention to turn the pin so the groove and wire will face down.

My plug has a small metal piece that prevents the wires from pulling out. I did not need a Knot.

I really doubt any original ones had aluminum wire, maybe tinned copper which is mistaken because of the color.

I am having problems getting the double wire Screwed on. The wire is so fat after you twist it there is no room to screw the fastener on.

I also have this problem, I think the wires are too fat when they are combined, and if you can get them in the fastener, it will be too wide to fit in the bakelite slot. I had to solder the 2 wires together and then solder that to a smaller wire to fit in the fastener.

Another option for the DIY, would be to carefully cut 1/2 the wires off each of the double wires, so that when you combine them, it will be the equivalent of 1 wire, and this will fit in the fastener...

I contacted the SInger Featherweight shop and they said: To reduce the bulk of the copper wires inside the bakelite plug, you can remove 1/2 amount of copper wiring from each cord. Untwist these wires, separate each one by 1/2. Re-twist one half together from each cord, cut the remaining half off.

Probably would be a good idea to tell them to wrap wire around screws clockwise so it doesn't back wire off of screws when tightening.
