Where can you get the best tasting tapsilog meal (marinated beef, fried rice, egg) on a student budget? Abi Marquez, Jujumao, Kath, and Gene are our designated taste testers on our pilot episode of University Eats! Tapsilog is a quintessential budget meal that consists of tapa, sinangag, and itlog that’s light on your wallet but fills your belly!

When I was still a student in UST during the late 90's we used to eat and hang out in Almer's..love their sizzling spare ribs and chicken plus extra coleslaw, gravy and mashed potato...I don't know if it's still in existence..

I'm not a thomasian but would choose the one around in Asturias ata yon or somewherr around dapitan. Yung malaking tapsilugan na luma na. Just for the nostalgia and value for money. But yeah, chades is the best. Hindi lang talaga siya around the UST area. Mejo malayo.

Back in the 80's to 90's there was Pampangueñas in Katipunan sa tabi ng vulcanizing. Best grilled liempo ever. Sayang nawala. Yung beef teriyaki naman sa Casaa sa UP Palma Hall. Yun yung mura, masarap, marami.

Rodics sa 2nd floor/ mezzanine ng stall nila sa SC. Got a high score sa exam Rodics, bumagsak sa exam Rodics, kinakabahan sa paper Rodics. You always have a reason to eat at Rodics. Like it is my “deserve ko to” moments when I was in College. But when you are broke as hell go to the manangs beside educ -> you can already eat with your P10. Just be an expert at making punit the plastic labo and ask for extra plastic, and you re good to go. Manang 3 da best.

Thomasian ako pero di ko alam kung ano/saan yung chades tapisologan. Haha Yung tapsilogan na kinakainan namin is yung Ilar's tapsilog. Sakto lang lasa niya pero kaya kami madalas dun kasi libreng 1 extra rice tas may iced tea na kasama na. Di ko na maalala presyo noon pero wala pang 100 yun. Sana maging series 'to. Next naman is Siomai. Marami nagrerecommend ng Angkong pero di ko rin natitikman pa yun. (Thomasian ba talaga ko?? Or ang tanda ko na tas di ko naabutan yung mga yan. Hahaha) Dimsum treats kami na may pamatay na chilli oil. Haha Kaya pagkakain kami dun, matic oorder kami ng D'Cream. Haha
