Too much risk. I plan to take the money and run. As should others.

Diesel Review It's a shame though... brand new car and last of its kind. How much will they give you and what do plan on getting as a replacement if you don't mind my asking?

There's no word on settlement details. As far as a replacement, it will be anything from my "Best Cars I've Driven" playlist at kzbin.info/aero/PLLUaLRnvKus3RM5zOdEISgHW6SeoGv7IX

Bryan is a smart guy , I love his reviews ...and always respect his opinions. But in my particular case with the 2015 Q5 TDI ...I love the way that car drives so damn much , i.e, it's power band and torque ..that I am planning on keeping it and to continue driving it here in the Colorado mountains.... its the perfect mountain car. Taking a page from your past legal research Bryan, I did find and read the transcripts from Dec 22nd court hearings on 3L TDi's ... my take is that Audi is pushing hard for a recall notice on these specific "ad blue" engines and is confident they can make emissions compliant with a software fix. Court seems agreeable to this if Audi can prove it works ...but also appears like a buyback will also be offered for those that want it. My county here in Colorado mountains doesn't have any emissions tests. I would love to have a software emissions fix, so long as it doesn't hobble the car's performance. I'm also a bit skeptical that this beautifully designed fuel efficient ad blue engine is a real polluter or is seriously damaging the planet. Especially since I only drive it on weekends. Bryan wants a buyback, I want to keep the car ...we're both right. Happy holidays all. cheers, BW

+Bill Willins Thanks, Bill. CARB is pushing VW over the edge for electric. There's more to the settlement. www.arb.ca.gov/newsrel/newsrelease.php?id=885 "Also under the separate California Consent Decree, the manufacturers will provide at least three new models of electric vehicles for sale in California -- including at least one SUV model -- before 2019. The companies must add a second electric SUV model by 2020 and keep these electric models on the market through at least 2025."

i've been looking hard the past few days for a 2011-2015 q7 TDi 3.0...Can i still buy it? should I?

TDI owners love their cars. However, since Q7 models up to 2012 are covered under a buyback, you will be looking at 2013-2015 models. The terms of the settlement for 2013+ models are unclear, so it's too hard to tell what will happen with those models (and their owners).
