To all fellow Time Team fans. We should not compare the old Time Team with the new. The old Time Team was backed by a major TV channel. Anyone who saw the first series of Time Team should remember all the characters that we all know and loved took time to develop and we need to give the new guys time to do that too.

I appreciate the characters of both, the experience & knowledge the original TT crew brings, along with the new tech & knowledge the new crew brings. Together they have a fresh & cohesive energy, offering something to each other & the project. Also, I don't see them as 'Old Time Team' as they aren't old, in my opinion they're the Original TT crew. I'm enjoying discovering the personalities of new members... and I, like you, hope people give them time to adjust to the stress of '3 days', working in front of the cameras.

As long as it is as it's done constructively ...respectfully and realistically I don't think it should be a problem .... but given human nature you are correct that it is best avoided.... and if new time goes as long as the original version *( and I so hope it does atleast that)* then they will settle in to there own rhythm.

For me, one of the highlights of the last years has been the return of Time Team . Watching it, I am simply overwhelmed at the high production quality, especially considering they are completely independent and not backed by any big network. It's astounding! The passion and love for what they do is evident in both the old and new members, and it's a joy to watch. Big thanks to everybody around the world contributing on Patreon to make this possible! ❤ You're the true MVPs. Love Gus and his soothing voice.

If it's one thing I learned from TT, it's never underestimate Corenza's logic, Mick's ability to lead and inspire, Tony's sense of wonder, Phil's skills that pay the bills, John's technical knowhow, Raksha's eye for detail and Victor's artistic touch. Above all though, never, ever, ever underestimate my bois Robin, Stewart and Pryor, for who I can never repay for the contributions they made in my life.

I've been advocating for museums like this for awhile now. We should be making 3D imaged, 3D printed, and other copies of what is currently in museums so the public can spin, zoom in, handle, and otherwise interact with antiquities. It would also allow museums with "collected" items from other cultures to *give them back*. (Parthenon bits, Native American pieces, and Benin bronzes come to mind...)
@alexlail7481
@alexlail7481 6 ай бұрын
Virtual museums and intricate high quality copies definitely have a place in the world now and going forward. But they also pose dangers that have played out before..... as technology progresses new things can be learned from the originals that could never have been known of in the past and somewhere far far down the line the copies are misunderstood to be the originals and that is used as evidence for the historical facts being hoaxed..... both of which have already occurred in times past... as much as I like the concept and idea there's sadly no replacement for the genuine article.

I always liked how Stewart could see the landscape for what was there before. In college with one of my dual major as Forestry, a key professor taught Silviculture. On field trips he would tell us to look at what was possibly there before. Forests grew over old farm lands. Natural drainage determined the types of trees and plants , etc. These are the types of things Stewart’s shrewd eye sees in a landscape.

It would be great if Tony teamed up with Gus, he’s doing great but needs to be skeptical and question these archaeologists. Be on the spot and involved. tony said in an interview on the time team official youtube channel hes more partial to documentaries than three day digs. if you look up his imdb hes done a good number of archaeology docus aside from time team. Im very partial to his docu "the true da vinci code" in which he compares fact to dan browns fiction. he also did a short series of walking britains classic roads, among others. his presenting career is much wider than onlytime team. And Phil was busy doing the battle of waterloo dig, and as i understand it is now mostly retired as his knees and back are wrecked after fifty digging seasons. Hes got a public email at wessex archaeology if you want to inquire as to his current works.

Loved the feature length episode. It makes the whole story much more comprehensible compared to the three seperate episode of the original time team format. Having said that I am still wondering why nobody wondered about the chapel being on a rectangular platform and why that is the case. All the time the team are looking for the preceptory. The current chapel was dated after 1470. So I think an earlier chapel or even the outline of the great hall of the preceptory can be found within the boundaries of this raised platform.

I am enjoying the new episodes very much! Thank you! The new technology is superb. My only issue with the new episodes is the tone of everyone's voice - so calm, so sleepy, monotone. [ yawn ]

love this, so much detail to discover right there under foot, this is what I love about archeology and related disciplines- digging for the truth, in as much as possible before decideing the puzzle is complete.

These new digs make me so incredibly happy! I just love Stewart, and John and Carenza and Matt and Naomi and all the new people! I love that there are children being involved. If I knew back then what I know now as a kid, I would’ve stuck with it and became an archaeologists. It has intrigued me my entire life. someday I would love to cross the pond and join one of the digs. That would be a huge dream of mine. Well done time team well done..!!!!

While no one could ever replace the OG Time Team crew, with their amazing personalities and fun banter, I think the new team is pretty good. The spirit of TT is still going and that's really the best thing about this show. No matter who is involved, we get inside looks at amazing archaeology and history that we couldn't see before. Plus it's kind of fun to see how far along the geophys tech has come from when they first started the show. The imaging is so much better now than it used to be. Also I like the idea of Gus' virtual museum. I can't drive, so getting around is difficult. A virtual museum I can visit would be such fun to see. Gus maybe doesn't have the energy or the sweet silliness of Sir Tony, but he definitely is a delight to watch and his voice is soothing. So I am going to enjoy both the old and the new TT, appreciate the best of both, and be thankful I have more episodes to watch

I like him..he hasn't got the banter Tony had tho, doesn't question or push the team. Hard shoes to fill. You can tell he has love and enthusiasm for what he is doing tho
