I did not know the artist's name nor if I was typing in the title of the song correctly, but I remembered the melody. Why the Holy Ghost chose now to allow me to be broken before him and receive such a blessing from this song is incredible. i've read a great book a few years ago called Forgiveness is Healing by Russ Parker, a very anointed book by hearing this Powerful song i have it in my hands once again. It's a resource I've used on many occasions in the past, i see more clearly once i close my own eyes and use GOD to see what's right for me. now that's not always easy, So what helps me is the simple things small steps. Like we do such a great job caring for others and forget ourselves. The greatest thing I've learnt is take time to heal it's an important and sometimes slow process. Take the needed time out to heal

Most people think that when they forgive someone, it means that person is released from accountability; no it's actually you the person that forgives that is freed. Your heart does not ache anymore and you are not caged with emotions. In order to forgive, you have to understand what forgiveness does not entail. 1) Forgiveness does not mean the person you forgave is free from consequences 2) Forgiveness does not mean you have to resume a friendship/relationship with the individual. Very important because even though the video depicted a change of heart and a rekindling of the relationship; in real life this may not always be possible or even appropriate depending on the circumstances. 3) Forgiveness does not mean the person will change or accept responsibility for their actions but it will give you closure to move on even if they are unresponsive to your act of forgiving them. 4) Forgiveness does not mean you are okay with being hurt. The latter is the biggest reason people hold back from forgiving someone. When you forgive, you are not now okay with the hurt, you just wont let the hurt live within you, paralyzing you emotionally. When you forgive, the pain is no longer your prison. It's the hardest most liberating thing to do. Sorry to ramble on but I personally know the struggle and thank God I overcame it.

Uhg, I listen to this song every night before I sleep. It helps me to let go all the sorrow that I have for what I caused my girlfriend and her parents to go through. I also wrestled with the spirit of unforgiveness. Unfortunately sometimes folks walk into your life and create a mess. God had to humble me by reminding me that I always pray the Lord's prayer where I ask him to "forgive me of my trespasses AS I forgive those who trespass against me." It was humbling to realize I was a hypocrite. But no more. I had to give him the unrestricted permission to remove anything in me that is not pleasing to him and to show me how to love without boundaries.

Kevin, there is no way you can write such a song if you were not inspired by the Spirit of God. Actually, I forgave everyone that hurt me in the past. But there is a person whose forgiveness I wanted to get, but the person died. I guess when man wont forgive you, God will. It is so hard to let it go! Yes, I want a heart that forgives; forgiving the man that bludgeoned my only daughter was easy for me, but I cannot forget the love I still have for my child. I didn't want to be in a prison of anger, pain, and the regret of not releasing; so yes, this song, is real. I am still under construction, as far as creating a new life, opening up my heart to freely love and forgive all. But, this pain, despite that I forgave the person, is real. Honestly, forgiving people is the best thing. It is wonderful to be free in your heart. I thought of my 𝐝𝐚𝐝 today and talked about him and what he did to my mum and to me, leaving her high and dry for another woman whilst she was pregnant with me, and choosing to live his life without acknowledging my existence even though he and his parents and siblings were fully aware of exactly where I was and knew I was his daughter. Today my 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 was completely peaceful. It wasn't at all affected and my blood pressure didn't sky rocket either like it always did whenever I would think or talk about him. I was completely calm and not at all angry. In fact I felt compassion and sadness for him even though he died in 2015. I even referred to him as my dad for the first time without feeling uncomfortable or weird about it like I always did. I had been referring to him by his name, Lloyd, for the past 3 years because it never made sense to call him something he never was to me, but it's ok now. For years and years whilst preaching, my pastor has always said that 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙙 𝙣𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙞𝙙 and every single time I'd hear those words I'd shake my head, disagree in my mind and tell myself that he wasn't my anything. To me he was nothing but just a sperm donor, but I understand now and I agree that he was my dad and that is ok. Even my mum used to say the same thing as my pastor and I'd get so mad when she said that. It was offensive to me because he was just a random stranger as far as I was concerned. Being angry at him however never added a single useful thing to my life, but it only hindered me so very much. I hated myself because of what he did, but I understand now that what he did is not what I did, so there was never any need for me to punish myself for so many years because of his unfortunate choices. There was never any need for me to cut my arms, to be anorexic, to attempt suicide, be depressed and angry or to feel like I was less than the children whose lives he chose to be present in. For years I asked 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 to help me forgive him, but when I asked him I never had any real desire or intention of actually forgiving him. I was FURIOUS and RAGING and as far as I was concerned I was justified in my anger and I had to hold on to that anger, but to what cost? I finally reached a point where I asked Jesus to truly help me forgive him once and for all and I tell you the 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗧𝗛, he really did, through the power of the 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭. I listened to 𝗞𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗿's song, 𝗔 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀, over and over and over and I really meditated on the lyrics. I cried many, many basins of tears whilst listening to it and it helped bring me to the place where I was able to finally forgive, let go and be free from holding onto the bitterness. 4 lines in particular really stood out to me which are: 1] "𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗜 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝗺𝘆 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲" [𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒉𝒊𝒕 𝒎𝒆. I keep coming back to this song, because my dad rejected after my mom died in May last year. He remarried 3 months after her death and has not spoke to me for 8 months. I've forgiven him and the woman that he married, but he still wants nothing to do with my family. God has done a great work in me. I wonder though if my dad will ever want anything to do with my family or me again or will he leave this earth without ever speaking to me again. I put it God's hands and trust Him.

Forgiveness is hard, we have to remember forgiveness is more so for ourselves & not the person that has hurt us. Once I broke free from the heaviness that once held my heart, the migraines I suffered from along with other ailments went away. Also, I was renewed and my life began to take on a new positive direction of growth.
