Been fitting for just over 20 years & ive always over lapped & cut through both ,I can genuinely count on one hand the amount of call back ive had with my joins ....this "seems" like a waste of money to me ,maybe good to have on a really expensive carpet to guarantee a nice finish

I think by doing that way there is a possibility of shaving the nap a little and then then that seam is going to show no matter how good you put it together

To me that's just a waist of time and money that's what I think with all due respect we all have different techniques but the goal is to make it work the fastest and easiest and smartest way possible

why does everyone in the uk think cutting the carpet from the face is a good idea, just straight edge both pieces from the back if its a head seam or row cut if a linear seam. Do Not Edge Carpet From The Face, You Will Nip The Carpet. 9:30 He even has to clean his work surface he cut so many rows 9:45 When he rubs thats edge pyle hes pulling out

Not everyone in the U.K. I always cut from the back, fitting 40 years. I am only watching these as I am ill with covid.
