Featuring Rita- A Very Special Save

Rita had a tough and premature birth. She was born in November 2023 at 1lb. Unable to lift her head and without a suckle reflex, she required tube feeding at all hours for the first 2 weeks of her life. We celebrated milestones that were delayed, such as being able to stand for the first time at 48 hours of age. Her balance and coordination took a long time to develop and it took 2 weeks of offering the bottle for her to start suckling. She continued to grow and made new friends. Despite her slow and rough start, Rita is kicking up her heels (literally) and enjoying life! She is a very sweet girl and loves her pets and interactions with her 2 legged friends as much as she does her 4 legged friends.
