🌱 ROOT REVIVAL 🌍
Our summer intern, Sadaf, recently led a land restoration project titled ROOT REVIVAL in the village of Umar Abad as part of Climate Action Pakistan’s efforts. The project focused on educating school children about environmental conservation and taking direct action through tree planting.
Key Activities:
1. Day 1: Educational session at Government Girls Primary School on the importance of trees in combating climate change.
2. Day 2: Tree planting at the same school with students and volunteers, followed by distributing gifts and assigning a summer vacation task of planting at home.
3. Day 3: Educational session and tree planting at Government Boys Primary School, where 13 native trees were planted.
The ROOT REVIVAL initiative planted 20 native trees and successfully inspired young students to take ownership of their environment. Sadaf’s dedication to fostering environmental awareness and her hands-on approach have left a lasting impact on the community.
This initiative was part of our Climate Action Pakistan Summer Internship program, which we offer yearly in celebration of World Environment Day. This year’s theme was land restoration, with interns across the country working on projects that promote sustainable land use and environmental awareness.
