I absolutely LOVE Project Hail Mary, and the audio is fantastic 😍 I hope you love it. I thought Little Snow White was interesting, I got a bit frustrated that Snow White refused to listen to the advice of the dwarves and not open the door to strangers 🤦‍♀️

Ahh yes, the black hole of moving. My husband and I moved into our house a year ago, and there are still things I don't know where is. I had some beautiful fairy statues, I know I packed them down when we moved, but they are nowhere to be found. I also know, no boxes were thrown away without being double-checked. I'm hopeful that one day I will find them. I wonder if the books disappoint more, when they are on the hype list? I try not to read any hype books right off the shelf, though I will admit I'm about to open The Three-Body problem. And I am very excited for it. But in general, I disconnect with the hype before I read a book. As I'm sure, there is some bias build up. I would say, don't mark it unless you finish it. Even if you get pretty far. Or if you do want to mark it, maybe do a half square or something, so you know it was an unfinished book. What you could do is to divide the square with a black marker, and then when you have another book you don't quite finish share the space.

I'm from Germany where the story of The Bremen Town Musicians is widely known as it is so closely related to a real German town. Nevertheless I'm looking forward to (re-)reading it as it's been many years when I last heard or read it.

The Bremen Town Musicians are widely known in Germany. I think it is read to a lot of children. And even though my mum never read any fairytales to me (heaps of other books though), I know the story, which just goes to show how well known it is over here😊. Hope you'll all enjoy reading it!

@bethandbeyond1 I read it in my 40's, and really liked it, so it must have struck a well-developed mature chord to some extent. It does (the first book especially) have some brutal violence which could be a difficult read, and or triggering. Not a shallow series though, by any means. Maybe it's a predictable formula, but boy, is it a satisfying one.

The Bremen Town Musicians was in a collection we had when I was a kid. I read it more than once. 🫏 I loved Project Hail Mary!
