Hey y’all, I’ve learned more about the history of paisley since posting this video and wanted to pin this here so we can all learn more about its origins! Paisley is a pattern that originated in Persia as early as the 15th century. The boteh, as it was originally called, is thought to have been a representation of botanical elements including flowers and the Cyprus tree, an ancient Persian symbol of life and eternity. Its meaning shifted over the years and it eventually spread around the world. I found this brief timeline of its history very informative: www.google.ca/amp/s/ismailimail.blog/2017/09/06/the-paisley-motif-a-persian-symbol-of-life-and-eternity/amp/

The paisley print originated from Persia and the shapes are called “boteh” or “buta”. High production of paisley scarves came from Paisley, Scotland.

It is my (albeit not comprehensive) understanding Boteh (the original design paisley was based on) and Henna developed around the same time (15th century) in South Asia (Persia for Boteh, India for Henna). I suppose it would make sense that they share an aesthetic similarity!

I bought acryographs for Christmas the 3 mm ( the bigger size ) and I’m having so many issues with them. Everyone I use. The second day I use it. It stops working. The ink doesn’t go all the way to the tip anymore. The only way I’ve been able to fix it is to swap out the tips. But obviously I shouldn’t have to do that, and it’s kinda a pain... any advice? Before I bought them I watched your video. And been doing everything you suggested.
@PlantBasedBride
@PlantBasedBride 3 жыл бұрын
Hmm that doesn’t sound right! Is the ink drying on the nib between uses maybe? Are you wiping off excess ink before storing? I’d contact customer service because it’s possible there’s a bigger problem.
@LastOfPaiger
