I love the aesthetic of this reading journal so much! My mom used to scrapbook when I was a kid so there's something so nostalgic about the scrapbook style. I'm a total stats nerd, so I would love to see some stats spreads!

I'm re-watching your videos. I really enjoy them. This week has been awful. I live in Texas and we have had unusually cold weather mixed with rolling blackouts. Today is the first day that we have had power for over 3 hours since Sunday night. Your voice is so soothing and I love listening/watching your videos as I craft and or journal. I am actually monumentally excited for this reading journal. I started a bullet journal around a year ago, but when the pandemic started I could not find any joy in it and it actually made my life harder. So I stopped and switched to a planner which was the right move for me, but lately I've really been feeling a pull towards some kind of journaling, but didn't want to go back to that same kind of journaling. The book journal videos you've made have inspired me to start a movie journal! Since I've been watching movies so regularly this year. I love these, thank you for posting these! :)

For my reading journal (which I started because of you!) I track the number of pages, my favorite character, my overall rating of the book, my favorite part of the book, and my favorite quotes.

In my reading journal I tend to write out a more in depth review of a book and talk about all the characters and which parts were my favorites!

I used to keep a reading journal, and they're some of favorite journals to look back on. (Single parent now, so journaling is more need-only stuff.) I would copy down quotes as I read and then a stream of conscious review it when I finished, usually referencing some belief or experience I'd had at the time, which are now my favorite parts. I really like the idea of an end of month stats page! I know picking faves at the end of the year is always tricky for me because I don't keep great track of stats throughout the year. An interesting thing re-reading my old reading journals is that I don't have memories of so many books I thought I loved, but the books I do remember left a greater impact than maybe what my journals suggest.

I have had trouble finding an aesthetic that feels doable for me, for a book journal. Right now I'm using more of book planner that I just fill in than a journal. Now that I've watched your video I want to try this scrapbooking style. That's something I know I will enjoy so thank you for that.

I don’t have a reading journal but i have a mindspill journal that i use for pretty much everything that is in my mind, so when i read i write important quotes that touch me or ideas that come from reading :)

I take notes as I read, sometimes drawing out quotes I really like or that illustrate major plot points. Usually the moment I'm finished I write down final thoughts because the story is really fresh in my mind still and all the emotions are still high, especially with a fiction book.

I would love to see how you review/reflect on the books that stood out for you! I am thinking of starting a reading bujo as a more permanent way to track my reading - I usually do a list in my notes but when the year comes to a close I usually just delete the note, and I have no real way to look back on why I loved specific books!!

In my reading journal, I write about a page or two about each book as I'm reading it; just thoughts I'm having about character and plot developments, any predictions I have along the way, quotes I like, and my final thoughts, ending each entry with my star rating. I also note my start and finish dates (gobbling up a book in a day or two versus taking a few days says a lot about my enjoyment) and what genre the book most fits in in my eyes.

I have reading journal where I track my reading, have my lists of books to read, buy, that I read, tbr and so on. And when I read book I take notes, and write my thoughts in another notebook. Where I also write my star rating and review.📖📘📕🖊

I love this so much!! I’m starting a reading journal for the first time this year and I’m so excited! I was stuck on what I should do for each book I read (it’s own spread or something else) I like how you did spread for your 5 star reads with favorite quotes so I think I’m going to try that too! Last year I got to do a mini cousin book club. We read Mexican Gothic and I did a separate spread for it. I kinda made it look like the wallpaper on the cover and I included print outs of what all my cousins thought of the book.

I love the spreads you created! I make spreads for the books I read in my journal! I tend to include my impression, what I liked, what I didn’t and my rating, along with quotes that resonated with me! It helps me absorb the content and remember for later if I’d like to reread.

I love your Bookish Bujo! Mine has more statistics tracking spreads and lists. I need to make more book themed spreads. (I read about 12 books a month so making a spread for each book is hard but if I highlight the favorites that might be more manageable.) I cannot commit to a TBR so my TBR spread is a library circulation card that I add too as I finish a book. Anything to make it more interactive and fun is great. 😊

I would really love a detailed video on how you use your reading journal. I've seen your setups, but there's still some things I'm curious about. What kind of things do you write? Do you make a spread for every single book? If you were reading something more intellectual, would you take notes in this journal? How can one tweak the cawpile rating system if they're reading something intellectual or non-fiction as opposed to fictional? Your spreads are so lovely by the way, these videos are so relaxing!

I love what you're doing with this reading journal! I definitely don't have the patience for something like this. Mostly i use goodreads and then a very details books read spreadsheet that I've been using for a decade now. ALSO I keep a commomplace book for quotes I love. This is beautiful though! I love the polar bear for The Midnight Library :)

I didn’t know I Needed a reading journal til I saw this! I’m in love. I may try it out by adding a spread or two to my daily bujo first. Book reports were always my favourite thing to do as a kid so this is like the intentional, grown up version. Love it!

I have one too - so far I’m trying to do a spread per month but I’m not sure how well I’ll keep that up, I’m inspired by yours to maybe have month dividers to make it easier!! two words: amazing and soothing. I feel like watching your videos immediately stops the chatter in my mind, and I always get ideas and inspiration. here. Love itttt!!! I don't do this, because I am going to make a reading journal. But I thought of doing this spread or incorporating it in the book spread, where I write moments that made me teary, or that touched me and, revelations and lessons I learnt/realised while reading books. This is obviously not for every book, but a lot of them do. So that's an idea of what I include (or would include) in my journal.

I do have a reading journal, but I only write reviews in it. I try to point out themes, characters, settings and such, but I'm not too strict with myself. The point is to think critically about what I've read and practise getting my reading experience down on paper ^_^ I also keep a notebook where I write down stuff about genres, themes and other literary techniques that I've read up on.

This is the first year I’ve created a reading journal. So far I’ve just wrote a little snippet with each book I finish with when I finished it and my rating. So far the books I finished were kind of blah so I didn’t write much. The 3 I’m reading right now are much better so I’ll probably have more say. I’m just going with the flow.
