Great tool to have but in this scenario you could put the cardboard on the side of the vice and trace the outline of the side profile. (I understand it's for the sole purpose of showing how the tool works on a complex piece) whent an bought one today bc of this video

I know its gonna come in handy 4 me because there have been a few times over the years I wish I had it but didn't & spent way too much time eyeballing/ winging it
