I'm getting ready to do a turned applique quilt. Have you seen the technique with the non fusible stabilizer? You put the stabilizer on the right side and sew around the shape. Cut a slit in the stabilizer and turn the shape inside out and flatten. The stabilizer turns the ends under without a lot of fiddling. It's a great technique and makes it easier especially for people with arthritis. I love the mini quilt Jessica! So cute!
@jessica_dayon9 күн бұрын
I have seen that technique. Thanks for mentioning it for others too!
@Dranma518 күн бұрын
I’ve seen that done with interfacing too which I think is cheaper than stabilizer

Love it Jessica. I bought the pattern but I couldn’t figure out where the heart template is. Both of my downloads are the same, thank you
@jessica_dayon8 күн бұрын
Hi! Both downloads will be in your Etsy account- one for the pattern and one for the template. Etsy won't let me upload the same document twice and also I double checked to make sure they are both there. I would log in to your Etsy account and try to download them again. They have different names so perhaps you just downloaded the same one twice? If you have any issues, please send me a message on Etsy.
@pamward76768 күн бұрын
Yes I went back and looked. I think I downloaded the same one twice. Sorry I just now realized what I did.

Love it! How would you hang it up? Command strips or sew a tab to hang it with?
@jessica_dayon9 күн бұрын
The way my spot to hang this is with a line and clothes pins. You could also do push pins through the corners or sew a sleeve (or triangles at the two top corners)onto the back to hang it. I bet a tab and command strips would work also.

Hi Jessica. I really like your mini-heart quilt! Are you able to tell me what the fabrics are? I have found. as a quilter, I get hung up on the new seasonal fabrics every year! And although these do not all have hearts on them, the combination of them is very pleasing. I really enjoy your easy to follow style of teaching. Thanks for admitting your little boo-boo. I find most of my quilts have at least one those of those also.

I think I’d cut open behind the heart and put some stuffing in there so it puffs out a little bit. Such an adorable little quilt would make a Great Wall hanging. how do you display these?

I have large wooden frame with a metal wire running across the top. I use clothes pins to hang the mini on it.

Hi Jessica, and thanks again for another great video! Did you use anything (pins/glue) to secure the heart in place before you started stitching?
@jessica_dayon9 күн бұрын
I did not because it was small and I felt like I could hold it in place. However, you could use either pins or glue and they'd both work great.

@@jessica_dayon I'm beginning to think you have super powers LOL
@anneacacia88839 күн бұрын
It is a very little quilt, Jessica. I did notice that in the bottom right hand quadrant of the star (beside the sashing) the half square triangles are pointing inward, rather than outward, as in the other quadrants. You are the maker and creator, so leave it as is, or change it, as you see fit!
@BonnieWeakley5 күн бұрын
Is this quilt in your book called Year in Solids? The description for the book is a quilt for each month. So I’m curious if each month it’s a small quilt like this or a full size throw and is each month like a holiday theme?
@jessica_dayon5 күн бұрын
This mini quilt is not from that book. A Year in Solids is a book of 12 large quilt patterns, one per month. Each quilt uses solids but you can use anything you'd like.
