In this video, we take a closer look at Fed's Poly Yarn Rubber Leg Stimulator Variant, inspired by Randy Kaufmann's original Rubber Leg Stimulator (via In the Riffle). This pattern is a modern twist on the classic Stimulator, with the perfect addition of rubber legs! Fed's version introduces poly yarn into the mix, making it a versatile fly for many fishing conditions.
The rubber legs bring a lifelike movement that adds an extra layer of attraction to this fly. Paired with poly yarn, it’s like they were made for each other! You can experiment with various color combinations, but I personally prefer more natural hues with grizzly barred rubber legs for that irresistible buggy look.

🎣 Fed's Top Fly-Tying Tips:
Tie ten flies in total.
Start with larger flies for easier practice.
Tie three each in Size 8 and 10 with a white or yellow wing (yellow's my favourite).
Tie two each in Size 8 and 10 with a black wing (helps in darker conditions).
Complete part one of each fly before moving to part two.
Repetition helps build your muscle memory!
