Regarding theft: I just found out that everyone last year paid an additional £80 to cover insolvencies of bad energy companies who then were bailed out by the taxpayer and customers of the responsible companies. This year we are all being hit for an additional £100 to cover OTHER CUSTOMERS DEBTS! To me that is pretty much theft. Why should anyone have to pay for another person's debts? People are running up energy bills to £2000 - why arent they cutting back before it gets to that? But anyway to me obviously this society is wildly unfair in terms of wealth inequality - we have people doing crucial work caring for the sick and weak and being paid less than a McDonald's worker, while someone staring at charts of stockmarket in a comfortable office is making hundreds of thousands. We have people like Tim Cooke creaming in trillions for Apple while children are mining materials in Africa, and teenagers are working 7 days a week in concentration camp type conditions. That is also theft - theft of labour, theft of human rights.

Ultimately I think we will see prices dropping slightly because inflation is mostly in food and energy and commodities. QE is likely to continue and may prop up a part of the housing market but a lot of people don't access that type of wealth which is generated (e.g via the stock market/bond market), so just rely on their earnings and a dollop from the bank of mum and dad to buy a house.

Powell said nothing about cutting rates, he just answered the million questions about it from the media. Powell said "Pause, and wait to see what the data does" same thing he has said for the last few months. The financial media tried to get him commit to a time frame on a rate cut, which he did not do. Frustrated, the financial media then went to the Dot Plot; which they ignore when it does not support what they want, but make it the bible when Powell won't say what they want. The financial media mis-reported and cherry picked Powells comments to fit their narrative, that is all that happened. Nothing changed, none of the data changed, it's wait and see. The markets? they are completely irrational, hyped, and overpriced. There is no avoiding a recession, no growth coming, nothing to support current valuations, it all 100% gambling and speculation.
