Nice assumption . I have only voted for people with the opposite plan and they never get voted in. I did have one person I supported get voted into Mult. co. Then in her term she changed parties and went to all of the opposite views. It was incredible. It’s too bad that wasn’t a story. I think it was the plan of how to get someone into office representing east county. This is what the people in Portland and Multnomah County want. They vote in fear of proper change.

This is just yet another result of a much bigger underlying problem - homelessness. Thing is, no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to think of a workable solution. I honestly don't think that it can be fixed.....

I used to live in southern commifornia. I had moved there in 1962. When I stopped working in 2014 I chose to move to a different state in a semi rural small town. There were many many advantages to doing this. I was ghosted by people I thought were friends so I'll NEVER go back. I don't need them anymore.

My wife and I went to Portland for the first and last time in 2015 as part of a PNW anniversary trip. For years we heard what a great town it was, and it seemed like everyone was moving there, so why not check it out? I had never seen so many drug addicts and aggressive panhandlers before COVID. The parks were filled with them and the place just did not feel safe after dark. Not what I was expecting at all. You could tell the city had good bones and infrastructure and could potentially be a wonderful place to live. But that was now outweighed by the freak show on the streets and insane politics. I can only imagine how it is today, post-COVID.

Likely there was a fee to the news station for contacting the mayor’s office, a fee for the statement, and a high volume day of the week fee for both.

Geez. I went to parkrose high school in the early to mid 90s , it was such cool place then zero homeless and no crime . It was like 50s america in the 90s . I no longer live in Oregon always want to go back , but I constantly see this just sad what the East side of Portland has become...

It’s called “A Fence” and one erects it around one’s property and it helps keep people out. When you make your property unattractive to criminals they go elsewhere because elsewhere is easier. Steel Cages around AC Units, visible from the street outside, also deter criminals, who prefer to work hidden.

One should not have to work or live in a prison. The ones who need to be fenced in are the criminals.
