How do car dealers "certified" their used cars? Go to the office supply and buy a rubber stamp that says CERTIFIED and stamp the paperwork. Done.

In a moment of candor, Federal Judge Wardlaw, who has examined how CarMax operates, tells the attorney for CarMax she has warned her children never to buy a car from CarMax. Case: Gonzales vs. CarMax.

It was everything, but candor - not on the part of the court at least. She cut him off so that the disgusting nature of this doesn't come to light in simple, layman terms. The conclusory implication of her advice to her children may be interpreted with a grain of salt: Because you don't know the actual reason why she said that. She cut him off because they knew this was one of the rare occasions when we actually see what's happening in a federal courtroom. This explanation could have meant a **huge** hit to their business; it carried the possibility of going viral and killing their business. So this was actually everything, but candor. It was a nice little coverup so as to retain the punitive power to the extent they intended to punish this company, and protect them from collateral damage.
