Nothing they say matters, on any subject, to a large number of Americans, but I'd be willing to bet a much higher percentage of Canadians. Extremely effective. Discussion over before it starts, and liberals do not have to defend any ignorant views on the matter. .... Identity politics are made for, among other things, division and stiffling debate.

There will never be enough money for healthcare. The fact is opulence and spare time leads to health problems because people have no brakes on their habits. 55% of Canadians are on at least 1 prescription drug every day and 25% are on 3 or more. Nation of healthcare addicts if you ask me and our government is run by an extremist conglomerate now because of how unpopular they are. Who cares what their teeth look like, tik tok actors? The more important things are ridiculous inflation, downward pressure on our currency, trade deficits with all our major trading partners, handing total leverage of oil and gas to countries who despise us while buying oil from them, declining demography, weak economy and last but not least a government who couldn't care less about the middleclass.

Our cost of healthcare per capita is half as much as it is in the US (~$5k vs $10k). And our dental care system is currently very similar to the US's insurance-based healthcare system. It would seem reasonable to expect that our overall costs would decrease if we had universal dental care. It's also baffling that we have universal healthcare for pretty much every part of our bodies except our teeth and gums.

The reality is that the Conservatives haven't done enough to appeal to the majority of Canadians. I'd like the spending to stop. Canadians living pay check to paycheck to don't have the luxury of over spending. We work hard to avoid carrying debt so we can hold onto the small amount money we get. Yet our government is simultaneously talking 20% of our earnings and saddling us with over 60 000.00 in debt per citizen. Every child born tomorrow will be carrying this debt 20 years before they will have a chance to pay it back.

Studies on the subject show overall savings resulting from this program. Preventative care (i.e. cleaning) tends to be cheaper than light procedures (i.e. small cavity fillings), which tend to be cheaper than major procedures (i.e. large cavity fillings, or possibly health complications resulting from poor dental health). So the end result is that people save money out-of-pocket (especially the poor), and then experience a tax increase of a lesser value.

Proponents of minority governments look fondly at the 1960s when Lester B. Pearson won back-to-back minorities that forced deal-brokering with the New Democratic Party. That era was the bedrock of the Canadian social safety net, with the Pearson Liberals advancing national medicare, Canada student loans and the Canada Pension Program.

NDP has had this as there campaign promise now for a decade. They finally pushed it through despite only having 28 seats. This is huge for the NDP not only with current voters but in the future of new voters.

Cover 35 percent of Canadians but the cost comes out of 100 percent of Canadians pockets. If government did something about housing and food costs, Canadians could afford their own additional uncovered health costs

There is only 38 million Canadians… they could have gave everyone a billion dollars and still 322 Billion left… come on get educated!
