Federal Q2B

Why don't you sit right down, and let me spin you a tale of a Federal Q2B that I was praying wouldn't take flight while I gave it a shakedown.
Spot the Derp moment at the end, when my power pack died.. ;)
Federal Q2B no tag, came from an early 80s ALF, was flush mount but was told by previous owner it came from something else.

Nice, I also have a Federal "Q" with mount and back cover. Them parts are available from Federal . Might be pricey but maybe you can find good used ones. The way you ran it with the front flush against the table, you are blocking the intake air flow. The siren pulls air thru the screen in front and the air is chopped on the side of the unit. Try it with the front screen open and you will hear a huge difference.
