Federal Signal EOWS 612 Tornado Siren Test 3-25-20

Monroe County, MI: Test of a privately owned EOWS 612 Siren along with the regular Monroe County siren test. This siren was purchased from Eric Laskowski mid June of 2019, and was installed back at the pond by the end of the month. Tyler and I are still figuring out some bugs with the SiraTone controller, so this test is simply one set of drivers running off a 200 watt stereo. Since a lot of us are stuck working from home, I figured I would do something a little different for Monroe County's test. Enjoy!

It made me dizzy while editing it too! Its not as bad if you drop the play back speed down to 0.5 or 0.25. It is a little easier to enjoy the views of the pond and the farm at that speed.

I heard a 2001 was it? In the distance but it got louder when the sound of that other siren was projecting towards you...how come you didn't go out there, to find it and record it?....or did you do that one, before?

It's been recorded multiple times on his channel. It's a 2001 at the firehouse directly across the street from his house. It goes off for fire calls regularly, and if you watch the video fully you see it recorded.

What issues are you guys having with the controller?

thunderbolt10031 It likes to randomly activate. On the 4th of July last year we had the “aux” plugged in and it randomly started up in pulsed wail without anyone being near it. I’m probably going to build a separate audio control panel, so if we just want to play music the actual Siratone will be bypassed.

thunderbolt10031 It’s done at least pulsed wail and chimes before on its own. Cancel won’t work, the only way to stop it is to pull the fuse. Also, I have to push auxiliary several times before it will activate the chime. I have another brain that appears to be less glitchy than the one that’s currently in there. I plan on installing sooner rather than later after this corona BS cools down.

@@WarningSirensOfMichiana Disconnect the front panel and see if it ever activates itself without it. If it doesn't, there's probably some issues with the switches. If it continues, there's probably something component level that's wonky.
