Jeez... that thing is ancient - in a good way! I'm surprised it hasn't been replaced by a FS 2001 like so many of the other cool old sirens like the Thunderbolt, 2/3T22, SD-10, Model 5, etc.

I'm now going to present new videos with the following: 1) no music. 2) in order: title-->pictures-->short 360 degree view around the siren-->close up video of siren with higher quality sound (using a Roland R-09).

I love this Federal Signal SD-10 introduction, especially the "Retro Color" part! amazing on how the FS SD-10 looked back in the 1970s. I think it's a 1973 model! Anyone knows when this particular model was built and was put into service? But most of all, this video represents all of the sirens in the State of Hawai'i. THis includes: Thunderbolt 1000T's, SD-10's, 3T33's, 2T22's, Modulator models 3012, 3064, 4062, 5020, 6024, 6030, 6032, 6048, 3T22, FS Model 2, FS Model 3, Model 5, etc.

SD10 sounds like a muffled version of one of its FS siblings. The 7T.. Aldo sounds very smart to an ACA P10.

Actually they are used for tsunamis, hurricanes and war. They are tested every month on the first day of the week.

No. Allertors are made by ACA, the SD-10 is made by Federal Signal. They just have the same 9/12 port ratio.

That wind down time is ridiculous! RRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....rrr.rrrr...rr I remember this siren when I was a kid. We lived by a school. You could hear that siren for at least 2 minutes after it blew. RRrrrrrrrr LOL

I visited this video for like 2 months, for the song, because I was too busy to go find it. It would always be on my drive at 6 in the morning, because its calm and epic. but I'd forget about the siren and it'd blast the shit out of me. :[[

its possible... sirens are used for many purposes. In Hawaii I would think these sirens are used to warn for tsunami's and nuclear attacks.

do you mean Attack (wailing)? Attack test signal is no longer used. Sirens used to sound an Alert & Attack for test day, but now it's just a 40-50 second Alert signal.
