indeed the high solenoid is working.. im saying at times when the horn has rotated away.. say at 1:51.. you can hear what sounds like the high tone solenoid starting to fail.. either that or the the low tone solenoid attempting to work because there is a video on here of when the low solenoid was working but not very well at all and it sounds like that really.. except on the old video of the low tone solenoid it sounds a lot worse aha

I am actually pretty familiar with this siren as I live just a few miles north and work about a half mile from it. That low tone solenoid was beginning to fail when I took a recording of it 7 years ago for my Mercer Co. siren slideshow (to hear what this 1003 sounded like then: kzbin.info/www/bejne/poCbkp6GZ9Grq7s). I believe the solenoid actually failed completely sometime in 2011 and has been like that ever since. Despite that, it still seems to be pretty healthy sounding. (It actually sounds amazing 1/2 a mile away!) Glad somebody was finally able to get an up close video of it!

I'm not sure how loud it was at the time, it sounds like it was about as loud as it was supposed to be, which is 126DB. I went and heard it today, and the blower isn't working. the highest sound level I got on my meter was 86.9DB. Also, the low tone solenoid is still busted, and starts spazzing out when the horn points to a particular direction.

I think the solenoid electromagnet is just worn because you can hear it try to shut at some points but barely shut before it opens back up. If it were stuck shut it would sound like a 1000 doing pulse.
