This is a demo of my Touchmaster Delta. I bought it on eBay and it is from a decommissioned ambulance. Everything seems to work great. It is hooked up to a 100w FS124 speaker. You can also look forward to duel sirens at the end of the video!
Thanks for watching, and I'm happy to assist with problems you might have on your own siren system or general questions!

As I mentioned, I plan on starting a outfitting company that caters to US Border Patrol, US Customs, US Coast Guard, all US Federal Law Enforcement, and every first responder I can market to. I grew up with F/S because my grandfather father was a lifelong Metro Cop, after WW1, and my father was a combat Marine after Korea, thus I was only exposed to Federal Signal, Yankee, Smith & Wesson clandestine police lights , Southern vehicle products, etc , etc. primarily because when I was born in 1964, my mother’s dad, and my father would literally puck me up, and drop me off at elementary, at pre-school, and would truly allow me to play with the switchboard in the siren amplifiers, toggle switches, particularly if I went on a ride along in the 60-80s, thus all I knew was what was installed in the fleets of Metro-Police & Fire & Rescue. Additionally I would help the radio technicians, back in the 60s-80s, install the mobile data terminals, the driver’s side rear cone antennas for the traffic radars, because I was taught to be optimally meticulous & methodical particularly when installing radio antennas, etc.. I learned MDTs, 2-way radios, scanners, rear drivers side panel “WHIP ANTENNAs with the roof gutter mount plastic antenna ball tip holder ( used when driving into underground parking, so whip antenna doesn’t get hung up & shapped into a X-mas’s elf shoe. I didn’t begin installing lights until late 70s, because the radar antennas, MDs, radios, scanners, were most problematic for the technicians, thus I was only allowed to do this with the blessing of our the city managers, I didn’t understand why, but no other cop’s iff-Spring, wanted to work for free while being monitored by all the radio techs. Some of the methodology’s that I used as a US Border Patrol Agent, I learned going on the hundreds of ride a longs with my family members, because my cousins, my uncles, my brother were all cops But I felt, much of the skillset & tradecraft that I learned as a kid in respect to the operations of the sirens, post spotlight, takedowns, alley lights, rebroadcast radios options, etc etc allowed me to create the illusion of many USBP Patrol Agent & K-9 Officer, simply because we worked desolate Border areas without proper radio communications, most of the time 60-80 miles away from any backup, thus residual police scanners connected to outside external siren speakers helped significantly, not only to keep the contacts mind away from trying to take you down, but psychologically helped me feeling that I wasn’t alone, and kept me from being nervous & shaking like a leaf. The opening of the door for the USBP k-9 was rigged up by our technicians way before anyone had an actual patent on the kind used today, because ours was extremely rudimentary & very bulky. But there was never a switching box of lights with amps, lighted indicator switches created on a separate under dash facia until F/S began a 5 & 6 switch box w/amps etc early 80s? Maybe some other company made the intergal switch amp system, but USBP would use the sophisticated version in the Navy fighter jets, simply because many times the USBP was granted offices, jail space, fleet vehicle parking lotts, in the middle of US Department of Defense Navy, Marine, Army Air Force Military bases, because US General Services Administration was the agency that leased it out to DOD from the start, thus the Federal Law Enforcement agencies already had top secret clearance, so USBP would share our radio technicians with USDOD, and we had sophisticated integrated interfaced switches that sometimes resembled the avionics on Military fixed wing & rotary wing air operations, additionally our USBP/USCUSTOMS AWACS were always hand me downs from the military, thus the same technicians worked on both fixed wing , Heweys & Black Hawks that USBP used in the field . One item that was hardy ever modernized, that was only utilized when I was hired by USBP were the stop, reverse, running lights, turn signal switches that were utilized several times per day, particularly in the night shifts. These toggle switches (I was told) , used to not have lights come on, when power was cut to running tail lights, brake lights,backup lights etc, thus USBP marked & unmarked vehicles were periodically hit from behind, until about the late 50s when Navy avionics technicians developed residual power sources that came on when various tail lights were operationally shut off for purposes of conducting official US Border Patrol operations.

I liked the dual siren when depressed with totally different types of sirens because I worked alone for 12 years due to having a Narcotics k9 I would sometimes also use the dual siren to make a felony possible trafficking stop along river border in South Texas, because the mere fact that I was typically 60 miles from my base in LAREDO TX, I had to try to make them believe I wasn’t alone, so I always had scan button on for numerous radio chatter to throw off the contacts, I worked permanently Mudnight to 10AM for 11 years & had the highest stats due to making traffickers believe there was at least 2 Border Patrol Vehicles, and that there was law enforcement all over, however I was scanning at times over 70 law enforcement channels between 2-6AM I would also scan A 800MHZ & LOWBAND RADIO & Federal radio Regency scanner , all hooked up to 3 other Federal sirens, I was allowed anything to produce, because I had won top Narcotics officer 3 different years with 2 border patrol K9s assigned to me.

Wow, that is very impressive! Sounds like a great use of your equipment to fool them and advert a potentially fatal confrontation. Plus I would imagine a barking K9 would suppress the desire to flee for most of the people you can in contact with. I’m glad you enjoyed the video too.

allintodrumsandguns I’m back with Metro, after my 20, but never promoted above a Senior Corporal. I got married late, so my last 2 of 3 finish law school in 1 year & 10 months , I was 19 when I got a job with Metro, and had a job waiting with Border Patrol when I graduated aTm university, my cousins that made it back from Vietnam, worked for US Customs & US Border Patrol, Federal Narcotics & Dangerous Drugs under Treasury but in 74 it changed to Drug Enforcement Administration many only switched to Special Agent Customs because they were offered a GS 12 , but the Customs Instructors who transferred to DEA went from a GS9 to GS10. Only I lost 11 cousins who didn’t make it back in the 60 & 70s from Vietnam, but combat vets automatically got 30 points veteran preference. I mentioned the retirement because I will borrow from SBA, about 6 months before retirement to open up a commercial outfitters for first responders, Federal & State, DOT, etc..Unfortunately I was hooked to Federal Signal because the Metro where I worked before Border Patrol only used FS & Yankee, and USBP patrol vehicles where I was stationed in SanDiego then Laredo Sector only used FS because they’re sirens were already for California Title 13 & FS sold / sided post mount 6” 150watt steady red & opposite side was steady white. In USBP Sectors other than California, like Laredo, Tx Sector the radio techs would place a flasher on the post mounted chrome spotlight while they put the WIGWAG alternating switch on the headlamps.

Hey there i just recently bought a federal signal touchmaster Delta and when i received it and when i opened the inside to inspect the siren ive seen that the inside looks different from any other delta that ive ever seen and whats different is that the siren driver looks different and there is the writing on there but instead of just saying TMD there is more writing and on it the thing says ( Bobzone TMD TX52) and was wondering if you knew anything about that also i also seen that there is no dip switches anywhere one the siren and those little knobs on the side that you use to adjust the pa sensitivity is moved closer to were the dip switches are supposed to be and im just wondering if you know anything about that if you do please tell me thanks

Hey man, remember me asking about the sweep modes for the Touchmaster? Anyway, I understood that you need a wire from the horn ring and hook it to the RLS ring for the sweep modes to be available correct?

Empire Gaming Yes, that is right. At 1:44 in the video, you can see the wire wire running from the horn ring to the rls terminal. Don't forget to connect the ignition wire to positive power. Then you're set!

Sorry, but I have another question. I recently got a PA mic for my Touchmaster but it doesn't work, you are able to hear the click from the speaker when you hold down the button on the mic, but it doesn't pickup the voice from when you speak into it. I recently bought another mic not sure if the mic was broken, still does the same thing. I tried every switch possible and just doesn't work. What could it be?
@allintodrumsandguns
@allintodrumsandguns 7 жыл бұрын
Empire Gaming It might be a knob on the inside. There are two places where the volume can be adjusted on the Touchmaster. Looking at it from the front: right hand side near the rear, there is a circular red adjustable knob. Try turning that and see it that works. Also, between the PA and Volume switches, there is an opening with "HI" "Lo" "M" and "D" around it. That's also for the mic. Use a thin screw driver to adjust that. Hopefully that's all it is.
@ASTGamingGTA
@ASTGamingGTA 7 жыл бұрын
allintodrumsandguns you are talking about a Touchmaster and not a Touchmaster delta right? I don't see a knob on the right side :)
@allintodrumsandguns
@allintodrumsandguns 7 жыл бұрын
Empire Gaming Both have the Touchmaster and Delta have it. Try this, leave the metal cover on. Now look at the right side of the unit. You should see a small hole in the metal on the side. That's where you would be able to field adjust it, but then you can take the metal cover off and adjust it more easily. If that piece is in fact missing on your unit, then that is probably why it's not working. Don't forget about the adjustment on the front too.

Ok so theoretically let's say I had my lighting on the slide switch. But in position 3, could that be programmed to activate the siren automatically? And then be able to cycle wail and yelp off of my actual vehcile horn ringer? Not sure if that was possible with the touchmaster delta.
@allintodrumsandguns
@allintodrumsandguns 5 жыл бұрын
Good question, to my knowledge, you can’t automatically activate the siren when in slide switch position 3, but you can cycle the siren if you wire up the horn ring to your car horn. Wail to yelp and depending if you have it in “sweep” or “O/R”. Mainly because the siren switch is independent of the lighting and no “brain software” to connect them together.

My touchmaster delta doesn't work on the slide switch. It works if you put it to wail or yelp and then turn it to test which then eliminates being able to play with the airhorn do you know what that would be? Could it be because the lights wire isn't connected?
@allintodrumsandguns
@allintodrumsandguns 6 жыл бұрын
joshua47315 I would try connecting the W. Lts wire. That sounds like it’s the problem. I had that happen with a regular Touchmaster, but an internal wire harness was disconnected. The siren worked on “bypass” but not with the slide switch. It all worked after I connected the harness.

davkenrem It’s just a 12v jump start battery for cars. I don’t leave the touchmaster delta connected 24/7 because it will continue to draw power constantly, whereas the touchmaster can remain connected for several days without draining the battery. Not too many amps, but depends on how long it’s used for.

I graduated from the academy in 1983, and will retire in a year ,and 10 months ,when my youngest finishes law school. Believe it or not, we went through pursuit training, which included 3 days a week for 2 hours , and our academy was 7 months & 1 week, but even after 2 years on the job, I remember one of my academy trainees, that graduated with me , got in car chase in 1985 while driving a brand new 1986 Ford CV police pkg,, he got T-boned at an intersection that the perpetrators made it through. I think the overheads were Federal Signal Night Hawk, but through out the entire episode he didn’t have the siren on? I can took primary because my colleague was out of the chase (No Injuries) and a fleet accident investigator worked the accident, my colleague got 14 days without pay from executive staff, internal affairs division recommended one month without pay. About 11 months after his accident, my colleague picked up a manilla folder at his mailbox at central station, a cheque for the entire time he was off was in the envelope along with official documents stating the days off was expunged off his dossier’ . FOP fraternal order of Police, Attorney’s got executive staff to clear his bad marks because we were never trained on how to work the siren box, the 900MHZ encryption trunking 2-way radios, we were only trained to operate the MDT mobile Data Unit (Police Computer). I asked my buddy about the siren, and he said that our fleet investigator tested it while he was working the accident & and Tommy said it was dual tone 200watt and extraordinarily loud. I teach about 6 days a week at our academy, but only for continuing education, and a friend of mine who is permanent, said that the trainees trainees already know how to work the emergency equipment better than the radio technicians, who train the officers at the academy. I was fortunate because my dad, grandfather, brothers were all cops, so I knew about the siren, radio, and MDT because I’d go on ride alongs with my brothers ‘ cousins. I only a senior corporal, I never promoted because I have to work my consistent schedule, in order to work my off-duty peace officer jobs, but thank you very much for your videos, sir. I’ve always told my family & brethren of law enforcement that Im going to open a Cop Bar, like the one on “Police Story” the series from the 70’s & 80’s, and I am going to have a Yankee bubblegum machine with the 200 watt chrome siren in the middle & Red & Blue above & behind the bar. I don’t know if that’s a brand , but it was a small red engraved plate the read “YANKEE” directly on the rotators & chrome speaker between the bubblegum machine. The young cats get tired of me talking about the “good old days “ but I had a take home car as a rookie , 1979 LTD 2 4-door with only wigwag headlamps, large chrome Unity post spotlight, on the rear deck a 150 watt 6” KC light that would blink on a separate switch box on top of the siren box. So essentially, I got the technicians to put 6” red & blue KC lights with glass lenses, because sometimes contacts wouldn’t pull over with just the head lamp wig wag & steady burn red spot light. So , essentially when you work traffic, all you have is a yellow/amber light for oncoming traffic on the rear deck of the car & Quintessential ,hazard lights ,that all cars come std with. Sorry for all the rhetoric, sir, but things seemed much simpler & nobody ever got into shootouts, or shot anyone because we had to get to the patrol car in order to use the mobile, we didn’t get portables until 1989, and we had to check them out and turn them in after our shift . This meant , by default, that we were very diplomatic with the public, and would roll up on each other’s traffic stops because we didn’t carry portables, thus we had to speculate if the contact was going to get violent, not to mention nobody had cameras in the vehicles except the Troopers, they had the very best equipment, cameras, bullet proof vests, etc.. we didn’t get vests until mid 90’s, and it only covered the front & they were highly used already, I think they were purchased out of country or from the military?
