Yeah! I used to LOVE watching the Psycho Fred commercials involving the light bulb and fake grannie. Definitely part of the 80's.

orion1052003 I'm looking for the one where yes the lightbulb is swinging and he comes up the stairs et cetera and they set it all up and then he stops and says Dad is my stereo good I love that part that's hilarious

when we were kids, we used to play a version of "marco polo" but yelled "fred / rated" instead...

450 dollars for a vcr... today you can have a decent plasma and dvd player for less than that.

Back then those items would last a long time. Nowadays you're lucky if a Tv lasts you 5 years and if a brand new Blu-ray player doesn't skip on DVDs and Blu-ray disks.

@0:10 that NEC8200 'Business Computer' had a 3-voice SYNTHESIZER?! Are u effing KIDDING ME?! Wow. I don't know what was cooler from the 80's~ Those boomboxes w/built-in portable musical keyboard that used the boombox&speakers as an amp(shown on another Federated ad)..or this awesome little piece of electronics. Eccentric digital magic. And Fred Rated aka Shadoe Stevens &these commercials aren't just one of the greatest things from the 80's, but one of the greatest things of ALL-TIME!!!

These commercials were so bizarre, but I remember them quite well. I was just a kid but I KNEW that these guys were on some serious drugs making these commercials.

Somehow, I'm sure they knew that whoever was watching whatever they were sponsoring was stoned....I know I was back then! I think that's how I ended up with the little Sanyo deck that's in the shower! Shadoe Stevens was incredibly funny in these!

Can't get enough of these. But does anyone remember the STOR Furnishings ads? They were similar in style. Just lacked a pitchman like Shadoe/"Fred".

Btw there wasn't any crack back then.

@orion1052003 At the time, Michael Richards would have been the former cast member of "Fridays", but now he is remembered best as "'Kramer" from "Seinfeld". To respond to Paul19807, I don't think that's him. What I am glad I saw again is the odd strumming technique at about 1:57 in.

Is that kid in the 'Want more toast' commercial Michael Richards? If not then it sure does look like him.
