Agreed! He has tremendous sportsmanship. His expression never changes, always very relaxed, and he's humble in victory and defeat. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never seen him celebrate like most fighters do; running a victory lap with arms outstretched and yelling at the top of their lungs. Nor have I seen him taunt an opponent.

@@roby9762 well to modern day fans of the sport he's not, but anyone who has been watching mixed martial arts for a long time knows he's the goat. Pride was the real mecca of fighting Now fighters fight 3 times a Year, when these guys fought 3 times a night lol and fighting ppl almost 2 weight classes above and fighting some of the greatest fighters in their prime That's a real warrior MMA GOAT isn't just Skill and Resume It's also Heart, Honor, etc. There's a reason Ali is still considered the GOAT of boxing, even though there were, and are boxers with much better fundamentals and skill, before him and after. Fedor just didn't age gracefully, and you can see that with most fighters who fought in Pride, because of the brutal setup of the org.

In the gym I train, I am just starting to get the hang of relaxing while rolling or sparring, aswell as drilling. I keep trying to get it through to some of the newer guys that they need to relax, and not try to take everyone's head off with every move, including drilling, especially my head. So it is good to see someone like this legend of a man doing things so slow and relaxed. I hope new people will see it is how your skills develope.

@oreocarlton33437 жыл бұрын
yep! He was the only one able to block Cro Cops kicks, which were very tricky - Cro Cop starts the kick going to liver and the it goes to the head - or it goes to the liver... That is why he had so many KOs by it, but Fedor completly destroyed his gameplan just with that simple block.

Something I would mention, is that often the distance, because of the nature of two fighters simultaneously moving, is so fluid, that determining WHEN to move in or out, is a reaction or action. You wouldn't do this in anticipation of a low-kick, but more so your body times out when to execute the form or your movement. I say this, because as a sword fighter, I realized that movement was built into the stances, but as momentary snapshots of a larger movement of both bodies. I would move in, with arranged motion, and we would land so closely and quickly, that the distance wasn't chosen, but how we react to that next moment can be. Not speed perhaps, though that helps. He is spot on about timing 1-2-3 and his forms of defense are locked in. You are never really out of position, unless the fight breaks timing; e.g. both fighters are moving hard in one direction, and possibly down to the ground, or falling happens regularly. In that moment before something happens, the fighter whom usually reacts, and can take advantage of that, usually can end things. At least in a MMA fight, many can withstand one perfect shot. Different martial arts practice accuracy, above most else, like TKD, and though good at landing one blow, or controlling the early fight, as soon as adrenaline normalizes and time dilation for both fighters slows, things like Thai boxing and others can reign; i.e. contests of endurance, pacing, strategy, moves, etc. plays out. But, I like it when a fighter shows great ability to survive and defense. FE is one of the best at these.
