wow, I'm from Alaska and we pickle our salmon the same way, except we preserve our salmon in salt first and when we're ready to pickle we soak the salmon in water and rehydrate it. wild alaskan salmon is so delicious, we usually make pickled salmon for special occasions or memorial feasts since our salmon has to last us 7 or 8 months before we can get more. greetings from Alaska bubbe!

Bubbe, Bubbe,Bubbe,.. GR8 Recipe !!! but I salt my Salmon for afew days so it absorbs more pickling liquid. If you want fresh Salmon, come to Vancouver Island and i will take you out and you can catch your own.

It is much easier and faster to skin salmon with skin side down and slide the knife over the inside of the skin.
