Dubstep is another subdivision of a genre that will come and go as far as charting musical content goes throughout the world. The peak of general popularity (not inception) has come and gone within a matter of single-digit years..., not decades. It is sad because of the innovation upon the existing EDM platform. The mostly 4/4, and/or half-time beat, was a fresh reminder of style; a new and unique bassline-focused beat music was birthed... Just like a shadow of how reggae was and is. Existing; but never in the forefront. This does, however, add the to the argument of the longevity of Dubstep as a sub-genre. What do you all think? Will our children of our children hear dubstep?
