I really enjoy your videos, particularly since we eat primarily vegetarian also, cutting back even more on dairy. I love tofu!

Thank you for your inspiration. As a vegetarian who tries to eat a healthy diet this is going to be helpful. I bake bread, have porridge for breakfast and enjoy vegetable stew and look forward to seeing ideas for other healthy and budget friendly meals.

A litre of milk seems scant for 2 people, to make drinks, porridge, baking, cauliflower cheese. But the cheaper supermarkets (Tesco, Aldi, Lidl) do a litre for 50p, so a family could buy more there. I was interested to see your butter - did you get this because it’s cheaper, or vegetarian or is it healthier than actual butter? Great video, really nice to see one from an expert for a change! Keep up the good work!

Hi, I don't use milk in the porridge, just water. I find it tastes the same and saves a lot on milk. We often use oat milk in our house anyway so wouldn't make sense to add it to porridge! On the butter front, I've been researching this lately actually. We've now switched to actual butter but on this occasion it was cheaper to buy the flora.

Hi! A Costco video would be good. Do you use marmite. We are vegan and put it in most things. It's lovely in the gravy granules. I've tried tofu all different ways and can't find a way I like it. It's a texture thing 😅
@amandac921014 күн бұрын
Have you tried freezing it first? It changes the texture👍💕
@christinenightingale252814 күн бұрын
@@amandac9210 I've not tried that but I will do. Thank you 😊

I've not tried freezing it. Interesting idea. I've yet to make a successful pudding out of it, though. That texture does weird me out.

I'm on the fence about marmite, which I know isn't allowed! Not sure how my kids would view it as they are very little.

Would love to see this list versus Aldi or Lidl.

I have a Lidl within walking distance so I'll do them next time. Bit more of a challenge as you can't price check the items online (I think?).

Where are you living, because food prices are far cheaper in the north than in the south?
@thrivinginsuburbiaАй бұрын
I'm just outside of Bristol. I wasn't aware of a North/South price difference!
@christinenightingale252814 күн бұрын
@@thrivinginsuburbia yes I'm in Lancashire and it's cheaper. We were in cambs for 10 years and the price differences are a lot.
