Thanks for the Video! Had the same problem with mine. I did not have a replacement switch, so I took the switch from the channel selector and used it as "on-off" toggle. Mic works fine now.

Great vid - helped me work out why my shure mic stopped working! I opened it up and sprayed some de-oxit contact cleaner on the switch and it seems to be working fine again. If it fails again I'll know to get a replacement switch. Cheers

Do you have a video of removing the channel switch and installing it to the power position? That would be most helpful. Thanks and great job. (clicking my switch repeatedly does power it on/ mute and off works fine)

great video and very helpful, this problem has put me off buying anything with a push button switch such as on the PG58 again. If your not very good with electronics you've had it though. Mines off to Ebay for sale for parts.

Simular problem with the power- mute switch on PG1 Bodypack Transmitter, Other model of switch needed though. Symptom: intermittant problems with power mute switching. I used switch "TASTER 3305B" from Reichelt in Germany. You need to cut a small piece of the switch its plastic shaft to make it work.

Friend...I have same microphone but my problem is not about switch buton, I think someone in my church threw it down and stop working. After removing the capsule I found that one of the metal contacts was broken!!! I'm from Costa Rica and I will appreciate if you know if there is a place or internet store where I can find the complete board... Regards Transmitter modelo PG2

THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO IS IT POSSIBLE TO REPLACE THE 9V WITH 2 AA BATTERIES IN ANY WAY THANKS IN ADVANCE
@laoluu5 жыл бұрын
No, you can't do that. This mic needs 9V and two ordinary AAs would only give you 3V. No way that would work with this mic.

Have you ever cracked open a Shure QLD-D2 handheld unit? I have one that someone dropped on the power switch and snapped the switch tab off the switch. $2 part on Fullcompass, but I can't even get the thing apart. The SLX mics are so simple. This thing is a nightmare.

Interesting.. now I can fix my Shure if it happen to be failed like this... Thank you
@DJColinCook9 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this - Shure wanted to charge me in excess of £100 ($160!) to do this exact repair. They then charged me almost £10 ($16) just for the 23c switch. Its a shame you didnt show how to actually remove and replace the switch as I know little about electronics lol!
@feedback-loop9 жыл бұрын
Colin Cook Yeah, I agree. I realized later that in such cases, when the problem happens to be quite simple, I should better use the opportunity to show the details of soldering and such. I hope to improve. Thanks for your feedback.

I hate those push and hold switches. So lame and confusing for some of the singers who dont understand the powering on concept.

those idiots... all that work and they picked a regular crappy micro switch at these price ranges. they should have used good quality switches. gold plated or at least sealed micro switches would save a lot of headache for a lot of devices. from garage door openers to computer mouses to everything they all get corroded in end . these micro switches are the number 1 cause of failure in products even more then failing caps. tip; if you are lazy or desperate enough you can open the switch itself clean it and put it back. if you put a little dab of long lasting synthetic oil inside it will last forever.
