Always important to remind people to make themselves safe. The Ribble is not the safest place to fish at night, in my opinion. Always try and have a friend with you, as above in this video.

I agree, even incase you happen to slip in or fall. Always worth having someone else with you 👍🏻🎣

Eh' up Westy, Garlic Sausage from Nisa is very good & comes in a Red plastic skin, stays on well, Quickstopped, Band pulled In or just Hooked. For Cylinders, I use a Felt tip pen cap, end sawn off, you can then "Blow Out" 3 or 4 at a time. 😘

Little rewards for the effort we put in that day but that’s just the way it goes! Was still a great day out mate, fingers crossed next time we bag up! 🎣🤞

Hi Westy, what's your primary tip for accurate casting?
@WestysAngling8 күн бұрын
I’m the wrong person to speak to about casting 😂 practice is the only way forward really. The professionals slow the spool with their fingers as the feeder approaches the spot 👍🏻 it’s called feathering

As usual great video. Something I’ve noticed - I’ve been fishing for over 65yrs, in my early years Greys were the epitome of tackle manufacturers, the absolute top quality gear. In recent years (15 or so) their rods are terrible quality & I would never touch them again. I’ve had a few rods in this time, 1st one, a medium quiver tip rod, the reel seat came loose on its first use & was unusable. They did replace it, but the inconvenience was unacceptable. The 2nd rod was the barbel rod & when I first used it I noticed the eyes on the tips & tip holding section were not aligned quite right. Through that first session 2 of the eyes came loose & one dropped off never to be seen again. Their name now to me is synonymous with cheap, far east production & I would never touch their tackle again. One problem could be just unfortunate, but two is unacceptable. 😥

I’m glad it’s not just me that has been put of their tackle! Expensive and low quality. I think Korum produced better products and much lower costs.

@@WestysAnglingYeah, Greys definitely very poor quality these days. I’ve got few items/rods from Korum & can’t fault the quality for the price, however I’ve now gone to Free Spirit rods - absolute top quality & strength versus diameter is unbelievable, but they are top of price range. They do a cheaper range called helical & you can get various rods for around £100 mark. They don’t have all the top quality features of the high range, but they are amongst the best rods I’ve used. All depends on your budget but I would recommend their rods to anyone.👍🏻🎣
